More Classics Come to iOS Platform
Sega isn’t the only one re-releasing classics to mobile phones Buried in a bevy of comic news out of Archie this week is word the company will offer original Sonic comics issue 31 through 34 during this week, if they haven’t already.
They will be available through the iVerse Media Sonic Comics app for iOS. From late 1995 through early 1996, noteworthy about these are the first inclusions of Knuckles side stories, before the echidna received a series of his own in 1997.
Digital distribution of back issues will continue right though April, when Archie plans to offer current issues digitally the day of release.

Who the hell wants to read comic books on their iPhone? I don’t remember, does Archie plan to digitally release stuff on a VIABLE platform, like PC?
@chaoticfox iOS also includes the bigger iPad, which is easier to read books and comics on than the smaller iPhone.
Are these (or other comic books) available on Kindle? I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting one of those.
@ ChaoticFox
Wouldn’t that be easy (as in REALLY EASY) to pirate if the books were in PC form? No comic book company that I know of wants to release their product to the PC world for fear of that, while ALL of them have an app on the iPhone, iPad, whatever (even Mirage with TMNT). But I agree, if its gotta be in this format I wish it was for more smartphones at least. My blackberry could use some Sonic….
@Augie
I guess that makes sense. Still seems like an awfully obscure niche market for comic books.
I’d rather just buy print comics than read on an iPhone OR iPad. What a waste, imo.
@Cloud
I suppose. But it’s not that hard for people to make and share scans of the actual print issues anyway (there are already several torrents and digital archives out there – trust me).
