Bayonetta, Sonic Colors Help Propel Company to Top 10
If you live and die by reviews–and you shouldn’t–and even if you don’t, you’ll be happy to know Sega was among the top 10 publishers of 2010, as determined by aggregate site Metacritic.
Sega came in 9th out of a list of top 13, with an average rank of 67.4 across games released last year. That doesn’t sound impressive, but consider the top developer Take-Two Interactive only averaged less than 10 points higher at 77.1. Sega stayed above water in part due to high scores given to Bayonetta, released earlier in the year, as well as positive fan reaction to Sonic Colors. Metacritic cited an 8.4 out of 10 rank given to Colors among participating fans on the website. Iron Man 2 and not a Sonic title dragged down the average with a 41 score–though Sonic Free Riders wasn’t that far ahead.
Sega beat out other big names on the lists like Bandai Namco, THQ, and Ubisoft.

I’d be surprised if Sega beat Bamco again this year, ToG FTW. Also Dark Souls.
Bayonetta ftw.
I wonder what the several Sonic titles were…
Did bandai namco even do anything last year x.x
They would impress me if they put liike Soul Calibur IV and Tekken 6 on the 3DS =]
I live and die for reviews.
Meh, I still think that Sonic Colors was actually underrated by the gaming press. Cheap level design my ass, the game doesn’t deserve below an 8.5. Its what you wanted, damn it. As for Bayonetta… Bayonetta is awesome.
Um how the heck did the poll just get so many yeses just now…
@SonicLegends
Now that I look at it, both of those numbers are bloated as hell…
Yeah, there was some ballot stuffing. Lucky me, I have a fairly good memory as to where things stood before it went haywire last night.
So, I’ve fixed the poll and I’ve moved the poll system over to a new interface that can let me visually track logs and the like.

What ChaoticFox said
I recently received sonic and sega all star racing for the ps3 on feb 5th this year, and to be honest, it’s the best sonic game of last year, and probably the best sonic racing game, and probably one of the best racing games in general.
What, no credit for Resonance of Fate?
@KeigoNiwa
I know they made Fragile Dreams on Wii, but it was actually published by XSeed. Actually I don’t know, lol.
SEGA? In the top 10?
Holy shit…*pinches self* OUCH!…………………..*pinches again* OUCH!….well….I’m not dreaming.
