It’ll be Available Outside Australia, Including to Sega’s “Various Friends”
Both sides of Sega’s community team took to the blogs today, informing the world it won’t just be Australians who can get their hands on the special Dreamcast Collection vinyl record when released with the compilation later this month.
In Europe, Kevin Eva disclosed both France and Spain have the opportunity to obtain the pre-order special. He also disclosed most of the record’s six tracks, including Open Your Heart from Sonic Adventure and three tunes from Crazy Taxi. In the latter, none of those tunes hail from the original. Eva also disclosed some copies would be given away as a part of a future Free Stuff Friday, and a charity auction for a special copy of the vinyl is in the works.
“Here’s something to think about – what number is better than 1?” Eva asked, referring to the numbered, limited editions.
In America, Julian Mehlfeld assured it won’t be available as a bonus in North America, but did tease copies available in future giveaways, as well as to people and places of their choosing.
“We’re going to be sending these around to our various friends across the web and will be posting updates to everyone shortly,” Mehlfeld said.
Surely they could spare a copy for the place that revealed the Vinyl to the world in the first place for a contest…but probably not. Ashes to ashes.

Taking another stab at this because frankly – I’m not sure what the intention of this article was, when it comes to how we work with you on the site or what you actually want for your site.
I can, and will, make jabs when jabs are made at me. If that’s the type of relationship you want to have with us, and me, then go for it. I’ll pop in here and be snarky and you can be snarky and we can all agree to hate each other because we’re big meanies and and …. However, if you actually want to participate in a giveaway, email me. You have this, it’s baked into every comment I make.
For reference, I got a few emails / tweets from contacts asking about the giveaway since I posted the blog and have done my own outreach as well. I’m pretty willing to do some giveaways on this if there’s interest, but if you are going to throw us under the bus and NOT reach out – well, then I’m not interested.
The end of the blog reads like you are some sort of victim, but you’ve not even asked – so I am hardly aware of your interest in it. I’m totally confused.
