Sonic is Very Social
A major milestone was achieved today for a company that can’t even get Twitter to recognize its feed as official with over 250,000 followers: Over on Facebook, the Sonic page has achieved four times that in fans.
On Wednesday, the page run by Sega’s community team hit the million mark for the first time. There appears no looking back; as of this writing the page is very close to a million and ten thousand more.
What does this show? For all the criticism, complaining, and occasional crisis, there remains a very strong and very loyal support system for Sega’s principal mascot and no matter how the 20th anniversary is celebrated, it doesn’t appear to be waning any time soon.

Clicking a button on a website equates to loyalty! Next you’re going to tell me online petitions have a high success rate.
A thought occurs, does Mario/Nintendo have a Nintendo run page? I know Professor Layton has an official Twitter.
COULD THIS BE BECAUSE SONIC IS SECRETLY IN CAHOOTS WITH FACEBOOK AS THE UPCOMING MASCOT FOR THE NETWORK?
Ooooh, scandalous! lol
Who wants to bet that a quarter of these “fans” are actually trolls?
@krazeeKidd102
I’ll bet.
@krazeeKidd102
Probably more than a quarter….
I’m proud to be one of those fans…..and not a troll btw. At least not the last time I checked…
Oh yay… um, yeah. Last time I checked, fans on Facebook mean absolutely nothing. Sales, on the other hand…
