Up Against Tough Competition in Handheld Category

In Britain, BAFTA, or British Academy of Film and Television Arts, holds annual ceremonies celebrating the best in movies, TV, animation, and video games.  This year, Sonic stands to be among those best.

The handheld edition of Sonic Colors for Nintendo DS was nominated this year for Best Handheld in its Video Games Awards.  It will be competing against an array of other portable titles, including Super Scribblenauts and Professor Layton and the Lost Future on DS, Cut the Rope on mobile.  But on critical acclaim alone, Colors’s principal competition may be fellow nominee God of War: Ghost of Sparta on Playstation Portable; that title’s Metacritic ranking rests in the mid 80s.

The BAFTA Awards will be held in London on March 16th.  The ceremony will also be streamed online.  Thanks to darkclarkson for sending this in.  If you have news to share, share it with us by clicking Send News Tips at the top of every page.
