Get a Collectible, Do Some Good
Our Australian readers are no doubt aware of the series of natural disasters that have battered the Australian state of Queensland in recent months. It began with a series of severe floods beginning last December across numerous rivers and river basins, eventually including the inundation of the capital city Brisbane. Dozens of deaths were reported, along with billions of Australian dollars in damages.
Not helping matters shortly after was powerful Cyclone Yasi making landfall on February 3rd at Mission Beach. That caused another $3 billion in damages in Australian money, and more severe flooding in Queensland’s north.
Sega’s Australian division is doing their part, and you can get something out of it. The first pressing of that Dreamcast Collection Vinyl we’ve been telling you about is on the EBay auction block through the weekend. The details are the same as you’ve always known them, with one exception: it’s #0001.
All money from the winning bid will go toward the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal, which will help the victims of those disasters. As of this article’s publication, bidding stands at AU$152.50, which is about $154 in US money.

the news drought is over.
In the story that just went up now, we’re crediting the Brazilian site Sonic Zone (which was the first to pick it up) and the Sega forums. Move the discussion over to that story, please.
Though I’ve written something on it, I don’t really consider this earth shattering, nor do I consider this a formal unveiling of Episode II. I will give Ken credit, however, for having a more open dialogue with fans, so much so as to run under the radar with all of this for almost 3 weeks.
