More Insight Behind the Scenes of Production
How did Eddie Lebron score original Sonic voice artist Jaleel White for his fan film, anyway?
Those topics and more are covered in a lengthy question and answer session sponsored by the Fans United for SatAM website, made possible through their partnership with Lebron and his work and posted by the website early this morning. On the topic at hand, Eddie does note some personal, out-of-pocket sacrifices had to be made to afford White’s fees toward the project, and the project as a whole. Lebron adds he doesn’t regret the decision to spring for Jaleel, and adds ten to “maybe twenty” percent of the film’s budget has come from donations.
Other topics touched on include the decision to proceed with a live action direction versus pure animation, and word a script re-write is underway. Lebron does plan to to approach Sega with the finished product, which many may know did not work out so well for Richard Kuta, who recently released a finished scene for his Sonic fan film.
You can watch the Lebron Q&A below. Thanks to Paul Scott of FUS for furnishing to us the link to the video via our News Tips. If you have news to share, be sure to share it with us by clicking Send News Tips at the top of every page.

Wait, Fans United for SatAM?
FU SatAM?
That’s kinda ironic.
@lozfoe: don’t remind me. On second thought, don’t remind THEM.
“Eddie does not”
Did you mean to say note?
I did. Wow. I’ve had a string of grammatical errors lately. Hm.

Well Eddie, Im anxious to see the final product even more. Im glad FUS is treating you well and the film is shaping up. Its your turn to shine dude, good luck!
@A Knothole Resident
Are you implying that you were shining at any point of your project? Especially not recently, where you are so afraid of criticism that you still have the comments disabled on your “teaser” video. Anyway, just keep blaming the studio, after all that’s what you do best, blaming others.
@Eddie
I’m really looking forward to this project. Keep up the great work. I also have a great deal of respect for how you take full responsibility for this project. Whether it be good or bad things.
@TheForteEscape
Ok serisosly, what the fuck? That was totally uncalled for, some you people are just hatingon Kuta out of pure spite.
Ugh, ANOTHER fan film without modern designs? I don’t mind classic Sonic, but I hate it when people use classic/TV show Robotnik and the SaTAM-exclusive characters. It’s overused. I want a fan film with modern designs and characters only.
@ForteEscape
Seriously dude! All AKR did was wish the guy luck. What, are you going to start criticizing him just for breathing now? Come on, he’s a person just like you, no matter what has happened with him in recent time, at least he’s nice enough to wish Eddie luck.
Sonic Fan Films are like a form of cancer on this fanbase already infected with illness.
^
Yes, fans showing there love for Sonic and attempts to create things that him and the fanbase will enjoy.
Makes me sick.

What the hell is wrong with this idiotic fanbase?
Anyone know what happened to Eddie’s Sonic movie thread on Retro? Was it deleted? Because I can’t find it anymore.
Eddie Lebron seems like real cool people.
Very good listen! I am actually super hyped for this film now. Keep up the good work. You have inspired me to put my best foot forward on my own projects as well.
@ry64: um….. Sonic’s model is more modern than classic.
@Crysore: Some people are insensitive and find it a game to make fun of him. I do find his past hilarious, but, I’ll let him get some rest.
It sucks to be such a victim, but, from all he did, he kinda asked for it. People are on sites like dramatica for a reason.
Wow, i’m impressed by Lebron, his previous works are amazing for the funding and the fat the are fan made.
Lebron will surely make a great Sonic fan film, the guy really is brilliant.
Good Luck Eddie Lebron!
