Efforts Presently Focused on New York Events
You may have noticed Sega’s community team is traveling more and more to New York City, first for New York Comic Con and the 2010 Sonic Colors preview, and more recently for press events and tonight’s Yakuza 4 launch party. No one will blame them for setting stage at the greatest city in the world, except perhaps for those hoping they would make the trip north on I-95 afterward to Penny Arcade Expo East.
The second PAX East, to be held in Boston this weekend, won’t have a Sega presence, as confirmed by community manager Kellie Parker via her Twitter account.
“We are not at PAX East this year,” Parker said in response to a reporter inquiry via the social media service.
You may remember Sega did make the trip last year to show off Alpha Protocol. The company has also attended the original PAX in Seattle in recent years, even showing off both Sonic Colors and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I last year.
No reason is known for Sega’s no show this year.

Ugh. impatience is really starting to get the better of me regarding these announcements. In all my years. I’ve never seen SEGA so secretive before.
this is getting a little tiresome. Sonic’s 20th is less than 4 months away and we don’t have anything.
I don’t expect the big Anniversary game to drop in June (it would make more sense to do it before Christmas), but I DO expect something. Another collection, Sonic 4 Ep. 2, Sonic Colours HD, ANYTHING.
Sonic Adventure 2 on XBLA & PSN seems plausible.
Probably to save money.
Anyways, I’m glad SEGA is taking their time with things, and waiting to the latest time possible in regards to announcements. This is a better SEGA (so far). Keep it up.
This is to get out of announcing a game.
I’m guessing something huge is going to happen this year. Episode 2, a 3ds game, and something big for PS3/360.
