A Little Bit of Everything Planned
Sonic Nexus is dead; long live Retro Sonic Nexus.
You may already know a new blog portal has opened for the combined project, with the intent of keeping fans and followers up to date on the project. Earlier today, an update was made which revealed the planned stages for it. You are already aware that RSN combines the best bits of Sonic Nexus and Retro Sonic XG, and that is best reflected in the stage selection.
As of now, nine main areas are planned, including Furious Finale and The Doomsday stage. That count does not include the bonus or special stages. Final Fall from XG makes the cut, while Cosmic Chaos from Nexus is included. Meanwhile, to some protest, loved levels like Sunset Shore were scrapped. There are also stages that will be brand new to the project.

Rats, Sunset Shore was AMAZING!
Oh no, Pristine Palisade got cut! I loved that level from Nexus =(
Those two levels very great and really captured the level design of Sonic CD, I hope Final Fall has been redesigned to be less like a Chaotix level.
I’ve seen videos of Chaotix… CONFUSING level design, for sure.
No!!! I will miss the sunset music
I’m still hoping for a Dreamcast release personally.
Great to hear this is back. I did visit the blog back in march, and was pleased to know it wasn’t completely dead.
The link to the blog no longer works, and unfortunately, I cannot find the topic on Sonic Retro anymore.
Is this project completely dead, or just haulted at the moment???
