Loses to Chillingo’s Cut the Rope
It’s said during awards season that it’s always an honor to just be nominated. Of course, it’s even better to win. Sonic Colors and Sega, unfortunately, will have to be content in the former.
Developing now out of Britain is word Sonic Colors for the Nintendo DS lost in the handheld category at the BAFTA Video Game awards. We told you about the nomination during February. Colors lost to handheld puzzler Cut the Rope, published by Chillingo, which to date has sold many millions of copies on the Apple devices.
Such an award would have been a great boost for Sega. The product of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, it is considered a high honor in the industry. For reference, the awards BAFTA hands to films are in effect the UK’s equivalent to an Oscar.

A Sonic game not getting a positive award… what else is new?
Cut the Rope…
As in “You have to cut the rope”?
That game sounds familar.
@Miraclechao: You’re thinking of “You Have to Burn the Rope”, I’m pretty sure.
Lost to Cut the Rope? That’s no bueno.
.
They need to stop making “Rush” styled games.
cut the rope is a little flash game … you play it for 5 minutes..
Fair enough, Cut the Rope is a simplistic yet addictive game =) And that little monster is SO cute.
…I guess I’d have to play it to have a real opinion of it, but from the trailer I watched on Youtube, I don’t get how a full game lost to that. In my mind, It’d be like Wii Sports beating out an MLB game for an award.
Lost to a glorified flash game…
Cut the Rope……………………..Cut the fucking Rope…………………………….really?
Couldn’t of it at least lost to an actual game, like God of War? Glorified flash game is the correct terminology for Cut the Rope, but than again, what in the IPhone’s library isn’t?
This work of art lost to a 0.99 cent phone game…The iPhone is killing quality games and replacing them with simple addictive puzzles.
I hope items return in future 3D Sonic games
