Loses to Chillingo’s Cut the Rope

It’s said during awards season that it’s always an honor to just be nominated.  Of course, it’s even better to win.  Sonic Colors and Sega, unfortunately, will have to be content in the former.

Developing now out of Britain is word Sonic Colors for the Nintendo DS lost in the handheld category at the BAFTA Video Game awards.  We told you about the nomination during February.  Colors lost to handheld puzzler Cut the Rope, published by Chillingo, which to date has sold many millions of copies on the Apple devices.

Such an award would have been a great boost for Sega.  The product of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, it is considered a high honor in the industry.  For reference, the awards BAFTA hands to films are in effect the UK’s equivalent to an Oscar.
