If you don’t know what the UK based Insert Coin is or what they do, you’re about to.
That’s because the company announced via social media this morning they have been commissioned by Sega to create two T-shirts commemorating Sonic’s 20th anniversary.
“We’re incredibly, incredibly honoured by this opportunity and it is very exciting indeed to be a part of this kind of celebration,” a company representative said via Twitter. “The designs are pretty much sorted and ready to go and these two tees will be a major part of our upcoming summer range.”
After the designs are revealed, the T-shirts will go on sale from the Summertime. Now, about those game announcements…

This could be very cool. Stuff like this shout be outsourced more often, so we might actually get to see something a little less cliche.

Sorry if this isn’t really relevant to the article or others have taken notice already, but I just realized that the whole nuclear crisis in Japan may make Sonic’s pro-ecological message even stronger. Despite how immensely tragic the circumstances are, this may actually benefit the Sonic series in a way. However, I don’t think they should just cash in on it, but instead use it as inspiration for the series.

Sounds like Sega are going all out for the anniversary =) Or some may say going the full hog, What a bad pun =P
I hope the games are up to a very high standard to finally put ‘Sonic should be killed off” rubbish to bed.
I have lots of Sonic T-shirts, so these are a very welcome addition to celebrate the anniversary =)
Now hopefully an actual game announcement in April? =)

لقد بدأت لول حمية البروتين أشعر بتحسن بالفعل! Anywho back to what said here…yeah I hope they break out some awesome shirts. I wish the hell they would do some of the others like the chaotix and shadow and even silver. Spice it up a bit…Make it worthy. Make it epic…This is 20 years so Go all out insert-coin. Hell ya know what I know they only do T-Shirts and hoodies…but why not some pants and hell shoes too???
Sorry if I sounded like a douche. All I was trying to say is that originally Sonic was a very pro-environmental character and essentially there was a reason behind his never-ending fight against Dr. Robotnik. Since then it seems Sonic has lost most of that motivation. Now, I’m not a super pro-environmentalist or whatever FYI, but I was just thinking maybe this is a way to give the series a bigger meaning again…

Even Mario and Megaman get those, and they release consistently well received and good (in Mario’s case, amazing) selling games. It’s absolutely ridiculous, but as long as there are blind haters, those calls will never go away.
