Allegedly Among Handful of Third Parties with New Tech

The website Gameolosophy, which claims a pretty good track record of late with breaking Nintendo news, is citing several reliable sources in claiming that Sega, among other key third party developers, already have their hands on the developer kit for the next Nintendo console.

The other third parties cited in the story are Sega, Square Enix, Capcom, EA, Take Two, and Namco, among others.  The article claims all mentioned have at least one game in development for the next system.

But before you get excited about seeing Sonic Generations or anything like that on the yet to be revealed console, the article also states Nintendo will focus on the 3DS both at E3 in a month and a half, and in the coming Holiday season…making any sort of system launch in 2011 less likely.

We’ll keep this as rumor for now, though with multiple reports at least affirming the existence of a new Nintendo console, it may not be a matter of if the above is confirmed, but when.
