Unclear if Downtime an “Anonymous” Attack
On Twitter today, Sega affirmed that “several” of its titles on Playstation 3–in particular the ones with online capabilities enabled–have been adversely impacted by the ongoing outage of Sony’s Playstation Network. Sega did not release a specific list, though it can be assumed any online mode–such as with Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, for example–cannot be accessed.
Problems were reported as early as late Tuesday, and became more widespread late Wednesday into today. As of this article’s publication, no one can access the Playstation Network or game assets that require it. In some instances, such as with Capcom, entire games are locked out due to strict digital rights management.
It is not clear whether the downtime is related to the unorganized group of hackers known as Anonymous, who followed through with a first wave of attacks in wake of the lawsuit Sony has now settled with noted jailbreaker George Hotz. The US Playstation Blog makes no mention of an attack–instead warning things may not be back to normal until the end of the week–though a now edited post on the European blog hinted at much. Furthermore, a message on the private Playstation Retail Loyalty Site indicates the problem may have originated in Japan.

Amazon’s S3 service is also down you might as well squeeze a headline out of that while you’re at it! If you don’t want to definitely fear monger about this being called by radiation from the pending NUCLEAR APOCALYPSE!
Oooooh I thought it was my bloody connection. Flipping hell man. Some hackers are so selfish.
@Sonical
…Except that it’s a perfectly reasonable assumption with the hacking of PSN just haveing happened ~1 week ago. Even without that assumption though, it’s still a worthwhile article (for PSN users anyways) just for noting that service is interrupted on their online games/games with online components.
Fuck!
*….just HAVING happened…..*
Damn typos….
@Skai Cyan
You, um. . . don’t seem all that fond of typos o.o
Good, I hate Sony with a passion for what they did to SEGA with the Dreamcast vs DVD Player 2 debacle. Any SEGA fan with some wit about them wouldn’t dream of owning a Sony product.
@Yes
8/10 not bad
