From Archie, 512 Pages of…What Exactly?
It’s not the long rumored Sonic Encyclopedia, but with that this many page, it might as well be.
Thanks to a news tip in from Ziggyfin, we can tell you about a mysterious listing that appeared on Amazon’s UK website for a December 8th release. It’s called Sonic Legacy, it appears to be the first in a series, and the first cover has a distinctly 1991 Sonic vibe.
Archie hasn’t formally announced the title yet, but at a hefty 512 pages, whatever is inside is sure to please fans of the comic. Interestingly enough, a listing hasn’t shown up on the US side of Amazon, so this could be an attempt to bring British audiences up to speed on what their American counterparts have enjoyed the past 18 or so years.

Y’know, I’m loving that art style.
512 pages of the comic? The Mobius Encyclopedia? Worth keeping an eye on.
That Sonic is just too adorable 8D
512 pages?
That drawing style is just awesome
At £10 (~$15), I’m not sure what to expect from it. It’s 512 pages, but that seems waaaay too cheap to be anything astounding.
Whoa, saw the title and thought that “PS3 exclusive anniversary compilation” thing had finally come to fruition, turned out it was about the comics. x.x
I HAVE THE ANSWER each Archie comic contains 32 pages, 32 x 16 = 512 so it could be
reprints of the first 16 issue or at lest 16 issues of something.
I’ve never liked the way Archie portrayed Robotnik; the cone-head, SatAM style. Either do the old-school circus ringleader Robotnik or modern Robotnik (Eggman).
So you know how Genesis is gonna be about how Sonic met the freedom fighters and Robotnik? A big flashback? Well, maybe this is expanding on those stories and re-showing new fans how everything started with new arts and scripts and more game-.ish
I wonder if it’s going to be a standalone, tie-in with Genesis, or compilation. Personally, I’m hoping for a standalone; the Archieverse has been pretty much all we’ve had for about a decade when it comes to Sonic The Hedgehog comic books, and I miss being able to go between Fleetway and Archie universes. Odds are though that it’s a tie-in with Genesis– four or five issues is hardly enough to explore an entire rebooted universe.
Perhaps it could be like the Sonic Archive series, only to speed up the process it’s the first 16 issues rather than the first 5.
Or it’s a collection of all the mini series comics.
Yeeeaahhh….I have no idea what this could be. First of all, it says “Book 1″ and “Sonic Legacy Series” so we know it’s not just going to be the first one. I’m kind of leaning toward a compilation more than anything. Maybe just a compilation of the upcoming “Genesis” arc. Considering the fact the book isn’t released until December it could be a possibility. But then again it says “Book 1″ so does that mean it’s only part of the Genesis arc? Like I said, I have no idea…
Nice art style.
Could’ve scrapped that design of “U.S. Robotnik” and put the REAL design of Eggman/Robotnik like he was in the games.
Just saying.
Nice to see the Satam/Archie Robotnik on the cover, and not the game design.
@ GoldenHedgy
u mean the Classic Teddy Rosevelt Eggman? Eh, that would false advertising (not that it would matter in a comic book cover). But I’m content with SatAM Robotnik on this cover since Archie is based partly on that show. At least it’s not AoStH Robotnik……..PINGAS! >.>
Mobius world and Archie’s vision of Sonic is crap.
Problem?
@Roger
Nope no prob wit me in that view if u have it. But I’m starting to suspect u love yourself some Archie Sonic cause u always show ur happy face on Archie related news ^_^
if you guys are fans of the comics then you could recall back in sonic the hedgehog issue 220
in the editorial comets they mentioned a new graphic novel plural well this could basically the sonic genesis story arc continued.
