Is This the Nintendo-Specific Sonic on the Way?
If a recently released list from global gaming retailer GameStop is to be believed, we may have the identity of that Sonic title specific to a Nintendo console, and we may also know the identity of that Nintendo 3DS specific Sonic.
Scener Hero of Legend disclosed on NeoGAF and other sources a printed list the retailer just published for upcoming releases. The list includes, among a small handful of other unannounced fare, a Nintendo 3DS port of Sonic Generations, complete with a $39.99 price point, a SKU number, and like the known XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 versions, a tentative and almost certainly changing December 31 release date.
Sega hasn’t made it official, leaving a tendency to leave this in the rumor column. However, it may be a matter of when, not if, Sega unveils a port for the portable system. If it holds, it also technically means we still only know two of what may be up to three Sonic surprises for the year, leaving the door open to any number of things, the mostly likely of which is Sonic 4: Episode II.
We will keep you up to date on anything more we learn.

@blueblur dude, Galaxy and Colors were awesome, and definitely weren’t clones of their previous installments, most especially colors. Sure it played like unleashed, but it looked nothing like it, since it had totally original levels. And the wisps themselves were an entirely new idea, as far as sonic games go.
The wii sucking is an opinion obviously so you can feel however you want about that. I enjoy the system and the games on it immensely. But as a very wise person once said “A good game graphics do not make”. ‘Sides, wii doesn’t have “bad” graphics–they’re solid, but just not as good Xbox/Ps3. Which I’m fine with: give me a game that plays well before you give me one that just looks pretty.
@blueblur: Colors was awesome, so I don’t know what you’re complaining about. And the Wisps are technically items, so what are you complaining about? =/
@Blueblur: You reek of fanboyism.
@Tom C! completely ignoring BlueBlurs obvious flamebait……It was mentioned by a writer at G4TV.com that the 3DS has processing power equivalent to a 360. How is it possible? Don’t underestimate the power of microprocessors today. Those were the same words used in the article btw. And no I’m not going to look for the article to prove it….I don’t have any clue how far back that article is. It’d be a wast of my time.
@Goodman Finally! Someone that understands the concept of “Content is King”.
Fun Factor > Graphics
@Tom C! I forgot to mention…I’m only debating that the 3DS is more than capable of GameCube graphics. Hedgehog engine on the 3DS i agree is a little iffy. But I think it’s plausible if the gfx are toned down
I hope that this is true…because then there can be one more new Sonic game!
@ blueblur Sonic Colours was one of the GREATEST Sonic games EVER
There better be a new Sonic game announced this, or next, month
