Report: Project May Not Yet Be Ready for Reveal
We know about Sonic Generations. We know about Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. But now chatter is increasing about a third Sonic announcement, one that, depending on circumstances, may or may not be tied to the 20th anniversary itself.
Spanish website Sonic Paradise reported Tuesday about a writer from the Spanish multiplatform games website Vandal.net who claimed to have knowledge about such a thing. The writer, known as De-Mon, said as much at Vandal’s forum dedicated to Sonic Generations.
“There’s still a Sonic game that hasn’t been announced yet, I don’t know when it’ll be finished though,” De-Mon said.
This could indicate a number of things, including that alleged 3DS port of Sonic Generations we told you about over the weekend. The news could also relate to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, which many assume is still coming, though we’ve heard very little about it since Episode I‘s release in October. It is possible this may be something else.
Between this and the Sonic Channel hints, it appears we have a ways to go before we know the full scope of things, and those things may not even be totally etched in stone during E3 in a month’s time. We will keep you up to date on anything more.

Please SEGA, no more Sonic 4. Generations on 3DS wouldn’t make much since, but i’d be all for it since my friend can finally get it somehow. I would prefer Rush 3 with amazing graphics and visuals, or Chronicles 2 fixed up with a non cliff hanger ending.
How do we trust this “De-mon” anyways? So far what I’ve seen he appears to be just some fan who put his own opinion on a forum. That’s it. Does he show any significance? What if I tell you guys I know the next Sonic game in 2013 in a forum? Would you believe me?

Besides, I think the cliffhanger was only there to continue the story. IF they had actually decided to continue it, likely there wouldn’t be a cliffhanger if it actually ENDED. =p
i know im being greedy, but im hoping its for all platforms… i hate that i cant play colours cos i have a 360 but im so excited for generations! im on a sonic high lol i just want another sonic game to come onto my xbox at some point soon =P
AUGH!!!!! There’s sooooo many awesome things this year for Sonic! The Genesis Arc for comics, and the games! I hope that the third game will be for the Wii. (In fact, Nintendo Power hinted that it may be for the Wii! ARISE FANBOYS!!!)

I don’t know what the announcement is, but I could tell you this: it’s not sonic 4:episode 2. That was announced back in March.
@Sonic52789 Announced back in March? As far as I know nothing has really been said concerning the game, which is why everyone is speculating about it. After all of this suspense I feel it would be disappointing to learn that the 3rd game is Sonic 4 (not b/c of its quality, but b/c it’s not exactly “new”–we’ve been expecting it). Though whether it is or not obviously depends on quite a few things, such as whether the Sega guy who mentioned the whole three games thing to begin with considers sonic 4 a major sonic title, rather than discounting it b/c it’s a small downloadable game. That could then mean we may get four sonic games this year. Although, since we haven’t heard or seen anything about ep. II, I wonder how far along they are with it: perhaps they started over, perhaps they gave it a major overhaul, or maybe they’re trying to keep security tighter, considering ep. I was leaked in its entirety.
Basically, who knows. If I could ever claim to be a patient person, it would only be because of sonic–though that goes for all gamers, I suppose.

@Unknownlight: Yes they have been accurate so far. Maybe they got carried away this time? De-mon is not a writer, he is just some guy who made an account to participate in forums and stuff. He isn’t teasing about a new game announcement, he just appears to be saying that there is yet an unready announcement, like any other fan would say in a forum.
If it isn’t Sonic 4, then it has to be something from the Colors team. Seeing as the main ST division is working on Generations, and the secondary division is working on Phantasy Star Online 2, that leaves them as the only ones without a known project.

No, we already knew the game was going to be made automatically and they mentioned so after Sonic 4 ep 1′s release. But they didn’t “announce” it til like February – March. So Sonic52789 is right. Not MUCH was SAID about the game, but it was announced. Anyways, he also said that since Sonic 4 ep 2 was ALREADY announced, the new one can’t be Sonic 4ep2. Besides, that would be on multiple platforms, not Nintendo-specific. There’s Sonic Generations for the 3DS being a possibility, but then that’s still Sonic Generations right? In 2010 ppl said it was Sonic Free Riders, Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors, not Sonic Free Riders, Sonic 4, Sonic Colors and Sonic Colors DS. We considered the Wii and DS versions still the same game. So would a 3DS version of Generations really be considered a seperate announcement? Hmm
People also keep saying they confirmed or hinted at a Wii release. They didn’t. They hinted a NINTENDO release. People are just speculating a Wii one cuz it’s the closest thing to 360 and PS3 they’ll get to playing a game on their TV’s. (at the same time I don’t see how making a game on a different Nintendo system can really make up for Generations not being on Wii. Not everyone with a Wii has all the other Nintendo systems. lol)
They also said there’d be 3 announcements, not 3 games releasing this year. But one would assume they announce it this year to be released this year since they’re announced so early in the year. So far we have Sonic 4ep2, Generations and Mario&Sonic3. But if I had to say one of these 3 didn’t count, I’d say it was Mario&Sonic3, as it is a game for Sonic AND Mario, likely with no major story and not soley about Sonic. o-o

S4 episode 2 wasnt annouced its still a rumor. But we will see I think they will relase SA2 port on 23rd June and demo of SG later.

Even with suggestions such as a handheld port of ‘Generations’ or Sonic 4: Episode II, I’m still hoping for Chronicals 2. I’d hate for a game with as good a story that the original had for a cliffhanger ending to never be resolved.

Can you guys make a Sonic videogame for a second dose of Werehog? One of the guy of Sega did said that we should see that beast again and fans made fan stories that featured him like the one that turned Shadow into a vampire or that horror storybook fan project or like the one in my story because I put Sonic the Werehog there because he’s my favorite beast than the one in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Werehog became my best beast beside Gregar and Falzar from Megaman Battle Network 6 because he’s not only a best but a werewolf-hedgehog hybrid, too. I LOVE SONIC THE WEREHOG!

I’m sorry, but after Generations, I really doubt they’re going to bother with Sonic 4: Episode 2. And if they do, it’d probably use the Generations engine anyway. I can’t see them reusing Episode I’s engine, considering they realize that people think its shit and that the Generations’ one actually works (from what I see). As for people asking for Adventure 3… guys, seriously. Sonic Heroes, ’06, even Unleashed used the Adventure formula. They could’ve named Sonic Adventure 2 anything else and it wouldn’t have mattered. Quality isn’t attached to a title.

Fuck Nintendo!! They cant win against Sonic in a fair fight, so what do they do, they buy out Sega and make Sonic look like a dumbass. Instead they look the fool because they make a fat plumber run as fast as Sonic..thats all i have to say for the crap that is Mario and Sonic Olympic series. And the Sonic Adventure series is only defined by their distinctive stories, not th gameplay style it utilizes, thats what makes them great: “the last great sonic games”. In my opinion, SEGA needs to make a new console and show up and kill Nintendo.
