1st Ticket Batch Gone in 4 Hours

Some 500 people will be among the first in the general public to play Sonic Generations next month, right in the middle of the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Called Sonic Boom, it’s being hailed as the first major US Sonic community event, though you may remember the Sonic Colors playtest at New York’s Citi Pond last Fall among the first outreach examples.  The event will take place June 8th at Los Angeles’s Club Nokia venue, and aside from the Generations demo, there will be musical performances and other special guests to boot.  Attendance is free and for all ages.  What’s more, Sega of America’s community blog listed 500 early bird passes for reservation now on a first come, first serve basis.  UPDATE: And now they are gone.  During the 7PM ET hour tonight, all 500 tickets were reserved and given away.  That means it took just under four hours for that first batch to be snatched by prospective attendees.  Sega is planning for an estimated 2,000 attendees, so more should be made available through various mediums in due course.

According to newly appointed Associate Brand Manager Aaron Webber, this is only the tip of the iceberg.

“This is just the beginning of a fantastic celebration of Sonic Generations and Sonic’s 20th Anniversary, so stay tuned for many more surprises about Sonic Boom soon,” Webber said.

Again, if this interests you, it’s best to reserve a spot fast; be assured they will go as quick as the Summer of Sonic tickets did.  We’ll bring you updates on the show once made available.
