The First Hint at Friend Cameos?
We’ve known for some time that, while the core gameplay in Sonic Generations will be handled by just classic and modern Sonic, we would see a few in-game appearances from other characters in the Sonic universe. Today, we received our first guidance of who may have made the cut.
It comes from the Japanese page of Aoki Sayaka. Ms. Sayaka is the Japanese voice artist for Cream the Rabbit, and she revealed–complete with a side picture of a Sonic Generations logo and some Godiva chocolate–that she’s recorded some lines for a new Sonic game. Here’s the rough Google translate that, for all intents and purposes, affirms Cream’s presence in some way in Generations:
We have been recording a new Sonic game!
Cute as ever grinded in Cream ♪
Chocolate ice cream with Itadai until after recording,
Kanamaru’s behind me is (Sonic’s), and
Be able to talk to you a long time,
Recording was fun!All means for your interest ~ ♪
For reference, Cream the Rabbit first appeared in Sonic Advance 2, and was then part of Team Rose in Sonic Heroes.
There are almost certainly more appearances to come; twenty years of games needs that sort of complete coverage, after all. We’ll continue to keep you updated on Sonic Generations news here.

Last time I checked, there wasn’t a cute little rabbit in Adventure 2. Advance 2, yes, but not ADVENTURE 2.
For reference, Cream the Rabbit first appeared in Sonic Adventure 2, and was then part of Team Rose in Sonic Heroes.

I would like to see her in the game. I hope she appears in the big cutscenes like in the PS3 and 360 versions rather than the handheld version. Though, since she said that she was with Kanemaru (who is Sonic’s JAP VA) then I guess Cream will finally talk to Sonic in a cutscene.

If Cream is in, then Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, the Chaotix, Eggman, and Metal Sonic have to be in it. They’re all so much more important.
I can’t stand Cream, but, she managed her way into Sonic’s history, thus she’ll be in the game. Wanna know who else was in Sonic’s history? Big the Cat. He’s BACK BABY.

Yeah…was never really into Cream, but hey if it’s Sonic’s 20th Anniversary why not? If you think about it, if the game’s using zones from previous games maybe Cream’s presence in Generations means they’re planning on updating zones from SA2. I mean surely Cream isn’t just going to inexplicably appear at some point in the game for no reason. I’m just saying considering she first appeared in SA2 wouldn’t they use levels from that game?

…….of course, this also brings up the possibility of stages from portable Sonic games. Maybe we’ll see stages from the Advance and Rush games, even if it’s only to make up for whatever annoying character speaking in this game. They’re bringing back Cream, so I want my Hot Crater HD. If they bring back Silver, I want my Music Plant HD. And, oh god, if they even think about bringing Big the Cat back, then that deserves Plant Kingdom and Coral Cave HD on the double, ASAP!
Fun fact that every Sonic fan on this website already knows! Cream was originally going to debut in Sonic heroes first before Sonic Advance 2, but SEGA was like whatever, and put her in Sonic Advance 2! ^^
Another mistake, for real, it’s Ms. Aoki not Ms. Sayaka, gotta pay attention when Japansese people put their family name before given name and Google won’t correct it.
@=Sean= – maybe that means they’ll just add a stage from Heroes and retcon her debut in Generations because even though she officially debuted in SA2, I really can’t see them updating zones from the handheld games. Now that I really get to thinking about it I can almost bet they’ll retcon Cream and Blaze’s debuts from SA2 and SR to Heroes and Sonic (Next Gen) respectively. I know they haven’t officially stated that Blaze is in the game, but considering it’s the 20th Anniversary game I’m betting most of the B-list characters will be in it…………or maybe I’m just thinking about all of this way too hard and they do just inexplicably show up in the game. lol

I wonder if Mighty, Ray, Fang (Nack), Heavy & Bomb, Bark, or Bean (did I get everyone?) will come back too? The first three are the only ones I actually care about, but I’m curious now.

Cream’s alright, and her new English VA is an improvement over the last one. But I’m still waiting for Classic Amy to show up and attempt to glomp Classic Sonic, who tries to explain to Amy that he’s not interested. Silently. By god, that’d be hilarious.
