It’s Not M&S…May Not Be Generations, Either
This certainly has potential to put a wrench in all we’ve learned this week. The Spanish website Sonic Paradise is citing Spanish magazine Nintendo Acción who claim to have confirmed with Sega another Sonic title exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS–a “brand new exclusive product,” in the magazine’s words.
Nintendo Acción was very careful to exclude Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games as being the title in question. That doesn’t completely rule out a port of Sonic Generations being a candidate, but if it’s not that, it would be the “third” Sonic title this year that we’ve been waiting to hear more on for a while now.
The magazine did not provide any more details beyond that. The confusion should become clearer in time for E3, but we will keep you posted on anything more that we learn.

@Amuro I’m only turning 14 so I never got to play those games, but from sonic adventure onwards, in the main home and handheld console game series, sonic 06 was the only bad game. Obviously sonic 4 wasn’t the best on iPod but that’s alright. Of course I know that the classic games r awesome too.
I believe it’ll be an entirely new mini-series specific to the 3DS
Just how the gameboy advance got the advance series
DS got the Rush series
and PSP got the Rivals series
3DS will get its own series, most likely 2D platforming

well you guys think sonic 06 and sonic unleashed were SA3 and that it could not have any chance of being for 3DS your just setting yourselves up for disappointment if you think it’s going to be sonic rush 3, because they already made that game, sonic colors DS. all i’m gonna say.

I think SEGA will announce it within the week of June 23. Calling it.
Not most of them, but the majority. And no, the things they complain about are too little to be complaining about. All this time we could be having nice gameplay, but all they care about is Sonic’s old look being back. So sega has to go out of their to satisfy them one way or the other, meanwhile they’re never satisfied. Let’s lookl at what they complain about:
Voice actors
green eyes
Sonic running at full stop on sonic 4
Not gameplay
And so on…
You see that is an example of shit they complain about. Why doesn’t the game matter? The whole reason why sonic hasn’t been good the last dacade is because of gameplay, not voice actors, green eye, tall body etc… You’re telling the the things they complain about are true, What about the gameplay? Why is it the least we worry about? Just like this article Tristan Oliver wrote here, about the third sonic game on 3ds. They’re already setting themselves for a disappointment like dreamcast fan with rumors of dreamcast 2. It’s like they’re just waiting to be disappointed. The ones on YouTube are just troublemaker trolls that make the whole fanbase look terrible. And yes I can generalize the whole problem to sonic fans, because the majority are like this. I hope I don’t sound nasty to you, in not trying to be. Trying to make everyone wake up XP
As long as this “new modern Sonic” game doesn’t make you play without items, a form of Spindash, and boost I’ll buy it.
PS: What I mean basically, about the boost modern Sonics level designs are terrible, so terrible that if you don’t boost, you’ll be even more bored of the HUGE linar path awaiting you…
PPS: Thanks SEGA, because of this whole new Sonic gameplay (which is ONLY used to get easy money and Sonics rep back up) I am now officially a frigging Classic Fanboy -_- just friggin excellent! Not my fault, I grew up with green eyes Sonic, played the Classics later in my years, truthfully enjoyed SA and up to Sonic 06 more than classics… Then here comes the music without Crush40, Sonics racing moveset, linar paths all over, 1 or 2 platforms, and stupid idea to rob Sonic off his Spindash & Items…
basically I think Sonic Generations is my last attempt to try enjoy this…. “modern Sonic” -__-

awesome! And on the site Sonic wiki, they say, Modern sonic is going to have alot more platforming sections like after the cave in green hill zone. and as long as the sections are fun, nicely placed (for example through out the level and not all near the end like on green hill) and basically as long as the platforming is common in the modern levels (bit like colours) then I’ll be happy!
And If I actually enjoy the gameplay this year for modern, because I love speed and platforming as Sonic is awesome and all, then if SEGA decide to keep modern Sonic speed gameplay for quite sometime – with even friends returned into the series,……..
as long as Sonic isn’t like Sonic Unleashed i’ll be happy…
also bring friends back in the future with fun gameplay!

I am with you but you are Adventure fan now not cllasic (from what you say)
But yeah I want the return of Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Blaze and maybe Rouge. Rest should be in story but shouldnt have own story mode but maybe have a stage or 2 in other story modes.

BTW Patrick Riley said the sections after the cave have more platforming involved. Why don’t u just watch the Modern Sonic walkthrough, pay attention to the parts after the cave and before the end.

If anything he 3D sonic game I wish for is the second installment of sonic heroes, or somthing similar to that effect. I really thought sonic heroes was going in the right sirection for sonic 3D wise.

@SonicGo! And others – you guys, I am positive that the 3rd game will NOT have classic sonic. The 3rd game will have solid 3d! So why would classic sonic be there? Plus, I don’t think classic fans want to see classic sonic with 3d gameplay.
@SonicGo! SA3. Loved the 1st and 2nd even if they were a bit overrated. Just take the time for it.
Sonic Battle 2. The 1st one was awesome. The 2nd should be on a home console to make it more noticeable.
Chronicles 2, I believe, is already in the works.
Sonic Heroes 2…if the characters have better movesets and if the jumping wasn’t sucky like the first.
@Sonic52789 Solid 3-D??? As much as I would like to see that, Sega is pretty much done with that type of game. Ever since ’06. I highly doubt it. I agree with the classic Sonic thing though. SA3? Don’t…I repeat…DO NOT….get your hopes up on that one. Epic Storylines? Sega looks like their done with that…look at Colors. Adventure Style gameplay? Done with since ’06. Extra playable characters? Probably not for a while…a LONG while. Chao Garden? Possibly never, by the looks of it. SA3 will MOST LIKELY never happen in this decade.

I don’t get people who say that voice acting isn’t important. Sure it’s not gameplay or even graphics, but they are things you have to listen to ALL THE TIME, THE WHOLE GAME. Really it’s the same concept as a bad song or a bad SFX. Flubbed, strange, or campy lines and voices are remembered for eternity, usually for worse than better. If you’re going to do something, you should do it right or not at all.

i wouldn’t go and say SA3 will not happen in this decade. If it doesn’t happen for his 20th then most likely his 25th it could be possible. I know sega hasn’t really don’t a story focused game in awhile but even Iizuka said it himself, if enough people are asking for it then he’ll see what can be done. I remember he said that in an interview when asked about it and there are hundreds of people asking for a SA3. if we got SA3 not it would be the perfect 20th anniversary, they would be catering to all 3 of the distinct eras of sonic.
