What to Expect from Archie for Late Summer
On Sunday, previews for a trio of Archie Sonic comics were released on Bumbleking.com’s forums.
The previews include the third part of the Sonic Genesis arc, which will have a distinctly Sonic 3 vibe to it, as well as the first edition of Knuckles Archives, which we’ve revealed here previously. You’ll also get a first look at the third portion of the Scourge arc from Sonic Universe.
The previews are first, followed by cover art in the gallery below.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #228
“Genesis” Part Three:
The most talked-about story in Sonic comic history continues as Sonic brings a curious new face into his adventures: Miles Prower, the boy genius! As Sonic and his friends continue the good fight against the evil Dr. Robotnik, the perils get more perilous, old memories begin to resurface, and the Death Egg orbits. Don’t miss the penultimate issue to this anniversary special event!

Knuckles Archives is Archie’s new SEGA-licensed book series spun off of Archie’s #1 best-selling Sonic Archives line. Knuckles serves as a companion piece to Sonic Archives–each references the other when stories intertwine.
Published in the popular full-color digest format that has done so well in children’s graphic novel sections, this super-sized 160-page title collects comic books Sonic’s Friendly Nemesis: Knuckles #1-3 and Knuckles the Echidna #1-3.
Knuckles is a highly popular character in the Sonic universe. In this volume, dive in as Knuckles investigates the mysteries of his origins and the wonders of the Floating Island and tries to solve the riddle of Archimedes! Brace for the harrowing adventure as Knuckles comes face to face with the dreaded Dark Legion and has his first encounter with Enerjak.

Somehow, I had a gut feeling that we’d see a Scourge version of StH #200′s cover at some point. Certainly wasn’t expecting the odd three characters on there as part of it when it was done, though! … and does this mean Scourge’s quills have regrown back already?
Really looking forward to what kind of cover part 4 of Genesis has.
hmmm wouldn’t part 4 of Genesis be of Sonic & Knuckles NA boxart? Hope Spaz can do something with that as that would be a boring ass comic cover. Anyway word of the street is that the eyes in the bushes on the cover of 228 aren’t knuckles’
Hey. Is that…?
Well, hot damn, it’s Verti-Cal and Horizont-Al. They haven’t been seen in the comic for 13 years! Geez.
Al and Cal were mentioned in fan letter once, and the Archie team said they’d be back. I guess they weren’t foolin’! 8D
I can’t wait to get these issues, and I definately plan on getting the Knuckles Archives. 83

So Eggmam somehow forces Sonic and co. to go through an alternate reality?
Elmer J. Fudd?
HEY KNUCKLES ARCHIVES IS NOT WRITEN BY IAN FLYYN AND SPAZ ONLY DOES THE COVER..
THE ACTUAL STORY WRITERS ARE KEN PENDERS AND KENT TAYLOR. THE ARTISTS ARE MANNY GALAN AND ANDREW PEPOY!!!!!!
omg Mark…OMG!!! ihave NEVER seen a dumber comment. NEVER! the sonic archives, sonic selects, and sonic archives, contain very old issues from the old days of the comic. none of those have ian flynn in them. it’s when the amazing writers like ken penders, karl bollers and michael gallagher were on the comic. and artists like spaz, art mawhinney, sam maxwell, manny gallan and steven butler. the golden age of the sonic comics.
Ken Penders and Karl Bollers ruined Sonic’s reputation!
