Sega of Japan Holding Invite-Only Sonic Anniversary Event

100 to Schmooze with Naka, Iizuka, Others

Today in Japan, Sega announced a special invitation-only event at the Tokyo Joypolis to mark Sonic’s 20th anniversary, on top of what is already planned.

This one is quite different, however.  On June 18th, those who are invited will participate in a special Q&A session with the core minds behind Sonic’s creation.  Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima will be on hand, as will current Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka, and several others.  Participants will also receive a special Sonic Birthday Party T-shirt.  There will also be a demo of Sonic Generations, and a lottery drawing for even more prizes.

For any Sonic fan, an event like this is a dream come true.  If you’re well versed in Japanese, you can go here to apply for an invitation.

If you’re not interested or don’t make the cut and you’re still going to Japan in the next month or so, you can still partake in festivities.  In addition to an already announced exhibit, the Tokyo Joypolis location will feature Sonic Generations for public demo, and there will be plenty of Sonic anniversary branded merchandise to win.  Go here for more information on that.
