A Demo, a Musical, And…Some Alcohol Among the Reveals
On Wednesday, Sega of America opened the floodgates on some of what to expect from next week’s Sonic Boom event, to be held Wednesday the 8th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
Some 1,000 tickets have been given away so far, including 25 here on TSSZ. If you weren’t one of the early birds to nab a ticket, you can still show up. In similar vein to recent Summer of Sonic standby queues, ticket holders will get in the event first at 7PM, with non-ticket holders in another line, waiting. As they leave, non-ticket holders will be allowed in, as explained by Sega’s Kellie Parker:
We will be giving priority entrance to ticket holders. So at the beginning of the event, we will fill the venue to capacity with ticket holders. As the night goes on, some ticket holders may leave. When people leave, we’ll let more people in starting with ticket holders. If there are no ticket holders to let in, we will let in non-ticket holders. But we cannot guarantee that non-ticket holders will be able to get into the event.
Ticket holders will get a special Sonic T-shirt, among other items All individuals will need ID to get in the door. There’s a reason for that: Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event, including adult beverages for the over 21 crowd.
XBOX 360 and PS3 demos of Sonic Generations will be on display. Sega’s details afford no indication as to whether the 3DS version will show up. Other entertainment will include a live performance of Needlemouse: The Musical. You may remember the act as the winner of the Sonic Birthday Contest in North America last year.
More details can be seen at the first link above, and more unannounced surprises are planned. TSSZ will have a special correspondent on hand to cover the events of Sonic Boom next week, so if you can’t be there, look here for updates.
