But Without the Whole of Crush 40, and Without a Performance
The 2011 Summer of Sonic fan convention’s eighth guest will be Jun Senoue, and just Jun Senoue, according to a post today on the Summer of Sonic website.
Unlike before, it appears Senoue won’t have Johnny Gioeli with him, and unlike Sonic Boom, there’s no concert planned for attendees. But that doesn’t mean he’ll be there as a bump on a log.
“Though not performing this year, Senoue-san will be present to meet with fans throughout the day, making for an electrifying and nostalgic event for fans of all ages,” the announcement read. “He’ll also be part of a special as yet to be announced item also involving Iizuka-san and Naka-san.”
With Senoue, Yuji Naka, and Takashi Iizuka all under one roof again, this year’s Summer of Sonic is sure to be a good one for attendees. If you’re not going, don’t fret; we have a correspondent going, and we’ll be sure to tell you what happens from the show floor.

What about the sequal of the Sonic Storybook series at Sega? Will Werehog return to the videogame series? And what about a new TV show for Sonic? I do want to see them for real.
it would be cool if jun just got up there and played a few chords. it’d be funny to hear everyone cheer.
Michelle,
SEGA already announced that the Storybook series is NOT continuing. And I doubt the werehog is returning.
However, a new cartoon? Wildcard there, though I hope it’s nothing like Sonic X. (Wow, did I just really say that? SonicAnime.net must really be dead to me.)
Anyhoo, I seriously wish I could go to SoS. Aw well…Sonic Boom 2012, anyone?
^ I don’t recall Sega saying the “Storybook Series” isn’t continuuing. AAUK may have mentioned that he doesn’t think it’ll be back, but I don’t see that as confirmation its over. Is it over? Quite likely, but there’s no guarantee, either.
I really wish I could go to SoS for once….
Ya’know I was saying I would kill a man for a chance to go to sos this year, but without a concert I think I would only be willing to severly wound someone. Maybe next year.
