Plenty of Pictures and Details for a Figure You Can’t Buy
This morning, statue and collectible maker First 4 Figures announced its world wide resin license has been renewed with Sega. In short, it means the company can make more Sonic figures going forward, including Modern Sonic.
“This is a worldwide license which means that we are re-launching our classic Metal Sonic statue for our European and Australasia customers,”the company explained.
To mark the occasion, F4F announced a special Sonic figure that won’t be available to the general public. It’s a 20th anniversary figure, and different versions will be made for different territories due to the classic Sonic art being different at the time of Sonic’s 1991 release.
“These will not be sold anywhere, but you still might be able to get your hands on one… you never know when or where they might pop up!” explained Kellie Parker in Sega’s separate blog post on the matter.
Photos of the statue in production, as well as finished models for both the United States and Europe, are in the gallery below. Thanks to all the individuals–too many to mention here–who clued us in via our News Tips system today.

Looks just like the New years render!
And that’s actually a really cool idea to release different versions based on the Classic Sonic stock art of the region during 1991 ^^ It’ll cause nostalgia to whoever owns it

Maybe these figures will be part of special collector editions for sonic generations release at the end of this year^^
@Eggfang
IKR? So dumb. Limit them all you want, but not putting them up for sale is just retarded :/
Man, pack this with Sonic Generations in a limited edition steelbook case, commemorative 20th anniversary booklet, 20th anniversary soundtrack CD, and a huge 20th anniversary poster, and SEGA can charge me whatever the hell you want for it.
I want one.
I bet some like collector or something made a deal with the company so they can like get all the stok and then they like jack up the price if the want to aution them off. Why can’t they just sell em to us?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to put a ring icon in there instead of box art?
@Ee: It might be a clue to something. . .
sonik: I’d like to see that I would buy it no matter the price
