Free Trial of Mobile Port Also Available
The cheapest version of Sonic 4: Episode I was released today to Windows Mobile 7 phones.
The Sega blog announced the release. The game had already been available for iOS users. With today’s release to Windows Mobile 7, both mobile ports now share a $6.99 price point. A free downloadable trial for the game is also available to WM7 users via this link.
Thanks to AugieD who tipped us to the news via our Twitter feed.

Wow, I never knew the 3DS version of Sonic Generations was released this early! Thanks for informing me!
@krazeekidd102
lol lets hope it doesn’t turn out like that.
Seriously SEGA, you have released Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 on enough platforms as it is. Stop trying to port Episode 1 and get back to work on developing Episode2 or tuning up Sonic Generations!
So I assume this is the iOS version being ported, with the wonderful 100,000 Point Challenge and drawn out mine cart fully intact? At the very least you’d think that Sega wouldn’t keep porting the same mistakes over and over again.
Hey krazeeKidd. Yeah, you.
You’re alright.
But yeah, cash ins, cash ins everywhere. Gotta recoup the money they sank into HD Generations somehow, I suppose.
Coming Soon….Sonic 4 Episode I…ON YOUR GPS! HAVE SONIC TELL YOU WHERE TO GO AND TO BREAK THE SPEED LIMIT…RATED W FOR WHOCARES?
I wonder what’s next thursday’s news will entail…
@Nomad
Cash in or not, making extra spending money isn’t worth risking your company reputation and brand name by releasing a low-quality product.
Sonic 06 is the perfect example of this.
Dude it’s sonic 4 not sonic generations 3DS port . That comes in November along with the console release
I should tell my girlfriend to download this for her Windows Phone.
SEGA said: We are not going to port anymore, so dont expect to see generations in Wii U!
I found this from their blog page announcing the game available for the WP7:
“Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I is a combination of reminiscent classic gameplay and innovative attributes”
I can’t believe they really are still trying to advertising this game with this HUGE lie….
First they’re milking Adventure for all its worth and now their trying to milk 4: Ep. 1? Sega, seriously, don’t risk your reputation and use these two games as crutches. We have Adventure on Dreamcast, Gamcube, Xbox Live, PS3, and PC. Not to mention its re-re-re-release on the Dreamcast Collection. We have 4: Ep. 1 on WiiWare, Xbox Live, PS3, and iPhone. Cut the crap and keep working on Generations, Generations 3DS, 4: Episode II, etc.
Wait. When did Doctor Eggman get a girlfriend? XD
If the iOS got this game, then so should WP7 people. Don’t act as if WP7 doesn’t mean anything.
