Your Questions Can be Answered–Even if You’re Not Going
Ever wonder why Yuji Naka left Sega to form Prope? Want to give Takashi Iizuka a physics quiz? Wonder why Jun Senoue can’t break out of the rock genre these days? These questions and more can be answered in a two part session at next week’s Summer of Sonic convention in London when Iizuka, Naka, and Senoue take the stage.
Both a morning and an afternoon session will be held, according to the latest SOS announcement made Thursday. Your questions for the panel are being sought at that announcement page (and only at that announcement page,) and some tips are afforded to give you the best chance of your inquiry being answered:
- Make sure you make leave your question HERE. It’s all very well leaving it in a forum, on Twitter or on the Facebook group/page but we’ll be looking here.
- Make sure you put who the question is to and who you are – we will try and find some of you on the day so you can ask your questions directly to the panel!
- Try and be original and creative in your questioning. “Why did you call Green Hill Zone ‘Green Hill Zone” will likely not get picked.
- Likewise please try and ask a question that might actually be able to be answered – “what levels are in Sonic Generations” and “what are you working on at the moment that we don’t know about” are examples of questions that you’re not going to get an answer to. Sonic Team (or Prope in Naka-san’s case) aren’t going to spill the beans to you are they?
- It goes without saying, but we know how unpredictable things can get on the day; these guys are essentially your gaming heroes. Please ask respectful questions.
So, if you think your question fits in those guidelines, ask away–you may have it answered by one of the big guns behind Sonic’s success.
Related, posted minutes ago on Crush 40′s Twitter feed, Senoue is considering bringing some of the Sonic Adventure soundtracks–we assume the 20th anniversary edition ones–for purchase at the show, likely at a cost of £20. “Thoughts” are sought for the idea.

What process of elimination did you go through to pick the levels that are going to be in Generations.
@MrMetalloidMan:
Ah. Starting off strong, are we?
Why did you leave a title that the fans have been craving for all these years to dimps, and when will you finally relise that sonic belongs in the hands of the sonic team, give us the sonic 4 we truly want.
What direction, tone and story-wise, will the Sonic franchise be heading in after Generations? o3o I want to know about the future, not the past. XD
I’ve always wondered if there would have been a shadow the hedgehog 2 if not for low score reviews. Would sonic 2006 have been shadow 2 if that was the case? I felt like shadows storyline was the most important.
Funny thing. I left two questions to Takashi Iizuka asking him about the physics in Sonic Generations 3DS and whether or not they could trust Dimps’ developers, not to mention asking him about the classic model.
These questions were mature, void of foul language, and worth asking…those comments are now deleted for some reason.
It’s also funny how the authorities at SOS is telling us to ask “respectful” questions. Was my questions NOT respectful? I merely asked them questions regarding the quality of future games. Frankly, if they can’t answer those because it’s “disrespectful”, then they don’t deserve the respect.
how about… what tidbits, extras and bonuses can we look forward to in pre-ordering the Japanese and/or U.S. versions of Sonic Generations!?
Hopefully it’ll include a Sountrack, the 20th Anniversary soundtracks, and some sort of extra content in the game like an additional level or 2 selected from past games that the original version of the game doesn’t have. (:
Maybe extra animated cinematics? Or even a small animated film revolving around the Sonic universe? =D (hopefully with voices this time if so xD)
To Takashi Iizuka
We all know there have been Sonic games based on different characters like Shadow, Knuckles, and Tails, but Have you ever considerd maybe doing a Sonic game based on a lesser known character? If so, who?
Ah, my comments are still posted. Nevermind my earlier statement.
Well done asking my questions. And regardless of the rules, it still seems like they’re those few disrespectful idiots.
Whyyyy Sega? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy???!!! (related to why is still Dimps working on Sonic games)
Directed at all:
“Over the course of the 20 year history of Sonic, speaking purely on aesthetics, what is your favorite level and level music? Do you have a least favorite?”
Is what I’ll be asking.
one reason why yuji naka left sega why other people working on sonic did yuji naka left becuase he did not want to work another sonic or something?
@ Takashi Iizuka: Is sonic team considering bringing back the Chao Gardens into the sonic franchise at any point in the future?
Also another question. Is online multiplayer, such as something like Sonic Adventure 2 Battle’s race mode with online versus, something sonic team is interested in for HD consoles. Like xbox360, PS3, WiiU?
Ok one more question. This one is for the one and only Mr.Yuji Naka himself.
Would you ever be interested in maybe being a guest director/programmer in a future sonic game? Or something like a guest supervisor? Maybe to bring ur experienced sonic design philosophy to the modern era?
Sent Iizuka my questions, signed it with a heart. Hopin’ mine gets picked!
Will Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic be interchangable in their respective stages?
Are you guys happy with how far the sonic series has come compared to others in the 20 years since it started? What kinds of things would you have liked to see. What do you have instore fore the future of sonic? Do you think its time to bring it to a close?
Scratch that. Rather, Do you think the Sonic series has “grown up”* enough in the 20 years it has been around.
*When translating for them, use the like closest word to human/animal maturity.
*SOS Wow, someone else wants to know the destiny of Chao Gardens, too
Is Sonic Generations even planned for PC? If not, why is that?
The only question that comes to my mind after that Chao Garden question ^^’
Will you concider making sonic adventure 3 since fans beg for it? Will you remake sonic 06?
You say that for generations is reusing the classic sonic levels from the mega drive/genesis days but will we see some sonic CD style of levels as well?
There will be cool extras like in Sonic Adventure 2? (kart race, chao garden….)
Guys. There’s no point asking your questions here. Nobody’s going to see them.
Who created the modern dashpad and why? As in the ones featured in SA and every game since, they are used for autopilot and course correction in games. I’d like to know how far SA was in production before adding them along with the homing attack, I’m very curious of what 3D Sonic would be like without these elements.
To Tristan: since I’m not going to be able to attend, how will I know if my question’ll be answered or not?
Did they do the 2nd q&a there is only video of the first one on justin.tv the 2nd one was supposed to be more fan questions
