“Sonic the Sketch Hog” Coming Thursday
It appears the big announcement made over the weekend at the Japanese birthday party for Sonic was the addition of a special app for iOS devices to commemorate Sonic’s 20th anniversary. For now, it appears this is the surprise work alluded to be in development for some time.
The app, according to Andriasang, will be available beginning Thursday as a free download. It will include a game, Sonic the Sketch Hog, in which players can unlock special anniversary material like wallpapers, as well as stay up to date on Sonic.
If you were hoping the murmurs circulating concerned a release date for the Sonic Generations demo, bad news: That was addressed at the ceremony, but no concrete timetable was given. It doesn’t appear Thursday will be the day. Still, there are some reports to share from the event, and we’ll relay those later on.

god help me
Either the Generations demo will be a surprise or it’ll be announced a week or so before the intended release, I suppose.
Whatever the case, this’ll be a fun app to use.
@SA3 2011
ur list is awesome! Though I don’t think shadow should be there, even as dlc, because it’s not a main series game. I think it’s too many stages for one version, so I think sega should split it and sell the rest as dlc!
@Shan
Actually Shadow the Hedgehog is considerated as main timeline game. A part of main series. But I understand your point. I dont mean the game but thos stage.
Digital Circuit and Mad Matrix (if I remember this right) were very unique because they took place in cyberspace. This should have at least small unlockable level.
Maybe you are right about amount of stages but SA2 had 31 different stages so its possible.
Maybe if there is PSVita version it will have other stages. Besides there is always DLC like you said.
Wait…SERIOUSLY!? An app!? THATS the groundbreaking news????!!!!!…(sniff, sniff) i think im gonna cry…
Happy Birthday Sonic! I’m practicing for tomorrow! I really want to see if this app is worth it!
I have a question, where is the app? I mean, it’s the 27th now so where is it?
