Archie Goes Back to the Beginning
This morning, the complete preview pages to Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog #226 were released.
The issue marks the beginning of the much anticipated Genesis arc, a four part series meant to mark Sonic’s 20th anniversary. Ian Flynn penned the script. Patrick Spaziante joins in on issue art, as does Tracy Yardley, Matt Herms, John Workman, and Terry Austin. Spaz drew the cover.
The cover and first five pages of Sonic #226 follow Archie’s official synopsis.
Sonic investigates the strange disappearance of woodland creatures and discovers the man behind IT ALL! What is he hiding? What is the truth that has been kept from Sonic? Where did the army of badnicks come from?

Anywho, I’m excited to how the genesis arc affects the mainstream canon, and I can’t wait to see more of Onic!

well if u wanna get technical, EVERYBODY got hit with this beam of light. But if u meant literal than Sally got gunned down before the light hit (tune in 4 issues later to see conclusion!!! *shameless plug*).
Anyway, I already got this wonderful issue in the mail yesterday, now i’m waiting for it to hit stores just to own a copy to lend to friends.
Oh, so he doesn’t recall anything huh… Can’t wait for the full issue.
Looks pretty good so far, except for Snively’s face in the last panel, what is that 0_o

I was enjoying the preview until i saw Snively at the last page.

lol Nah, just certain issues like milestones or things like Genesis. I have a niece and nephew who are big Sonic fans who mess up books like it’s nothing, so primarily any extras I have (usually through Archie themselves who sometimes give me 2 copies accidently) go to them and then to other friends who are moderate Sonic fans. I like to keep a clean copy to myslef for the collector nerd in me

Snivley is freaking me out over here. Definitely doesn’t seem to act like him either O_o

I already got this issue 3 days ago! It is really cool, but I am a little confused that they decided to called Robotnik Dr. Eggman, even though he is CLEARLY in his original Genesis design. I also find it kind of weird how Snively hated is Uncle in issue 225, but in this issue he is pretty much treating “Uncle Eggy” like an infallible god. Great issue and can not wait to read more.

It’s probably because, in Japan, he was always referred to as Dr. Eggman.

I think his actions here are what Lien-Da meant by the Death Egg “affecting them all”. My guess is it was some kind of reality altering weapon, like the Ultimate Annihilator, except this time rebuilding everything instead of erasing it.

@Viking ZX Well I can understand snivly’s attitude. Ian said somewhere that the death egg erases the minds of everyone and puts everything back to the beginning. So technically eggman hasn’t abused snivly yet.

Eggman is called Eggman because Robo Robotnik renamed himself that.
