Where It’s Available, and A Reason for Doubt
The Spanish website Sonic Paradise has found for pre-order on Spanish vendor Xtralife a special edition of Sonic Generations, both for XBOX 360 and PS3.
The pre-order, for the moment only spotted in Spain, retails for €40 higher than the normal editions, at €96.95, the equivalent of nearly $140 in US dollars.
Sonic Paradise does note the box art used for the collector’s edition is the same one used in a fan imagination circulated some months back. Still, they wouldn’t take pre-orders if one wasn’t coming, and if you remember, the special edition for Sonic Colors was limited to certain areas of the world as well. The game was the same, but it came with other special goodies, and we suspect this will be no different.

What’s ironic is, is that I’ve noticed everywhere is selling this game for about $50.
But I’ve been waiting for a collector’s edition to be announced, which is why I haven’t preordered yet. When I first heard about this, I had a feeling SEGA would do something extra nice, so I’ll have my eye on this.
Ee: it’s not even $60, it’s $50. A collector’s edition for the 20th Anniversary would be terrible to NOT DO for Sonic since his 10th, Sonic Adventure 2, had a Limited Edition.
If this 20th Anniversary Limited Edition of Sonic Generations is true, then dammit I’ll have to buy it. No excuses.

Special edition huh? Well, most likely gonna buy it, buy only if there are some really cool things that are worth the price.
The only way I’d spend $140 on Sonic Generations is if it came in a box set containing the 360/Ps3 version of Sonic Unleashed, the Wii version of Sonic Colors, and the 360/Ps3 version of Sonic Generations and the artwork on the box set looked awesome.
Well so far in the U.K theres the whole GAME Casino DLC extra but PLAY.COM has the game on pre-order for £32.99

Let’s see, my dream special edition:
- Game in a limited edition steelbook case.
- Code for DLC featuring a new classic era stage.
- Miniature statue of Classic and Modern Sonic.
- Sonic 20th anniversary commemorative booklet.
- Sonic 20th anniversary soundtrack CD.
- Giant Sonic 20th anniversary poster.
If it ends up sonething like this, SEGA can charge me anything for it.

If this isn’t crap, then that had better be the best special edition of any game in history–$140 is a completely ridiculous price. The only way any one should shell out that much is if it included a buttload of extra content and special sonic goodness. As this point in time, I don’t think I would throw my money away like that, unless maybe it was something amazingly awesome–maybe it is.
This was a concept that a fan made that some website was stupid enough actually believe it exists. There is no special edition yet.

Rememer that if it comes to USA, prise increase would be around $40. Prices in Europe are unfortunately almost always one third higher because of various taxes (including customs).
Just to let everyone know. If you pre order the game at Gamespot in america, you get exclusive DLC.
