Shout Factory Holding Sonic DVD Sale

And For Good Reason–They’re Losing Their License

If you’ve waited until the absolute last minute to get a hold of previous Sonic cartoon collections on DVD produced by DiC (now Cookie Jar), you may want to take advantage of a sale the current distributor, Shout Factory, is holding through July 31st.

The company is losing their license to the library, and that means plenty of classic cartoon collections, including the early Sonic series, is available at blockbuster prices. Among the discounts: The complete SatAM series is going for $11.99 plus shipping and handling. Each volume of the syndicated AoSTH series is also going for the $11.99 a piece, plus shipping and handling. The same is true for the both volumes of Sonic Underground; they too are $11.99 a piece plus shipping and handling.

This is huge, but I can also watch all the episodes on the internet. Decisions, decisions. Yes, only 12 bucks, but that’s a lot of money for some college kids like me.

I can pick up DVDs of all three of these series at local grocery stores and stores like Ross and TJ Max for like 4 dollars or less.. Dont know if its the same for the rest of the US but Ive gotten them ridiculously cheap.

I already own a bootleg copy of SatAM I bought long before the official DVD release, but 30-something bucks for all of AoStH? …ffffffff XD

Too bad they’re loosing and apparently not wanting to renew their license. Like the Sonic Movie which can only be found used and at a horribly expensive price.

I find SaTAM way overrated….It was much better than Underground but I’d rather watch Sonic X and AoSTH instead

Hm, couldn’t help but notice that, despite Sonic X being popular, gaining a lot of new fans, and even having many good points, it still gets largely bashed for whatever reason.

Tho I can’t help but notice that it is the only one that doesn’t have “retro” Sonic in it. Sooo I’m feeling a bias here. Especially when some of my anti-Sonic X friends watch certain clips of the show with me while I’m looking for something and seem to have no problem with it at that point. xD
