New Areas, Cleaner Views, and More
Below in our gallery, courtesy of Andriasang, we have several new or updated screenshots from Sonic Generations‘s Chemical Plant Zone. They were released by Sega of Japan today.
All of the shots are either brand new and show off new areas of the plant, or they’re clean from the Famitsu scans we had earlier this month. As before, there is a healthy mix of Modern and Classic Sonic to see. We also get to see that the tube mechanism from Sonic 2 is back, and a new Mega Mack waterfall gimmick appears to be part of Modern Sonic’s troubles.

Fuck me, its amazing! That Modern Sonic pic from behind with the tubes… and classic sonic in the tube – the background looks fantastic! I can’t wait for this game, simply for this epic looking level! Cant wait to play and hear it!

This is by far the sexiest thing I’ve seen from Sonic Team since Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
This is by far the greatest Sonic game in History, I’ve loved this game since my newborn state! I am the greatest fan of Sonic, and I hope we get to play as Classic characters! XD
Okay, Chemical Plant looks more and more amazing with every new screenshot. Can’t wait to see gameplay footage along with the music being remasterd for Classic and being remixed for Modern.

I’m so fucking sold. I would buy this game for this level alone…. I would buy it even if the entire thing was just a scripted video with no player input whatsoever.
This is pure joy incarnate. It breaks my heart that there’s only one more Genesis-era level to get such glorious treatment… Rooftop Run will never look this good.

the 2nd picture where Sonic is running on the Track, they look, interchangeable………. Awesome. But I still don’t like that they Skipped Sonic 3. Yes I know Sonic 3, and Sonic & Knuckles were suppose to be one game, but Sega sold them as two individual games.

It’s official….Chemical plant zone is not a city level. Like Ultimahedgie said “This level screams factory all Over”. I never knew Chemical plant zone could look this good. Jus imagine how Sky Sanctuary and Speed Highway will look. This is game is goin to be the highlight of my life :’D
Chemical Plant is looking a lot more like Chemical Factory. Like how Green Hill is looking a lot more like Green Canyon.
I’m convinced. Level remakes? Yeah right. Sonic Generations is basically a Sonic-themed GoldenEye Reloaded 007. These levels aren’t remakes, they are reimaginings of all these levels, adding new things to them that make them feel more of what their level-theme is……all in glorious high-def. And I’m happy to say Sonic Team’s doing a friggin’ awesome job of it!
Now all we need is a trailer…..accompanied with the remixed music…..

I’m never gonna be just as sold as you guys (yeah, the level list will bite me forever), but hell, this is FUCKING CLASS.
I haven’t looked at the pics yet, cuz I don’t wanna spoil it. One thing I don’t like about the new Sonic games is that SEGA pretty much showcases what EVERY SINGLE level is going to look like, leaving very few surprises! So I’m hoping they leave it at Chemical Plant and Metal Sonic. I know can just ignore them, but when SEGA is giving away all the details it gets tempting.
But from the thumbnails it’s looking pretty darn good!

I never really understood why people lumped this in with the city levels to begin with. The Genesis levels all have the most personality by a long shot, I was never worried about them feeling samey… it’s the literal “real world” city stages that have me uneasy.

I don’t know why ppl are pointing out it’s a factory stage. Not THAT many ppl saw it as a city stage. It’s in the freakin name. Chemical PLANT! You know, like a Power Plant!? It IS a factory. lol Well sort’ve.
The picture with Modern Sonic in the water reminds me of Cannon’s Core :O

I’m currently not paying for a gold membership because I don’t play many multiplayer games. I just downloaded the VOOT demo today though and it was pretty fun
Does Sonic 3 really have online co-op for Live? I had no idea.
@ ChaoticFox: sorry it took so long to reply. Sonic 3 is online through the 2 player race mode. Yea VOOT is an amazing sega game. One of the companies best to bring to XBLA.
