Is an Error Code Keeping Fans from Playing?
It was a weekend wasted for many Sonic fans itching to play Sonic Generations at Orlando’s Florida Mall, as we received more than a couple tips indicating the game again wasn’t available to play as a part of Simon Malls’s GamePlay tour.
The most prominent among the tips was that of zeroro, who writes of the no-show:
A spot for it was present, but the game was not running. When I asked an employee, they informed me that both the Xbox360 and Ps3 versions of the game weren’t working correctly, and that when started up it would show an “error code”. They said they were working on getting that fixed, but eventually the demo was replaced with a copy of Sonic Unleashed for people to play instead. Not sure if this is a recurring problem, or if it was fixed after I left the mall, but I was disappointing to not be able to try out the game. Also just as in Miami, Mario and Sonic at the London Olympic games was up and running fine.
Sega representatives have allegedly been in contact with tour organizers to alleviate the problem, but to no avail, it appears, with the tour now past its second stop. There will be one stop in Tampa tomorrow and in Jacksonville, FL on Thursday, and fans there have to hope the matter can be resolved in time before the tour packs up moves on. To our readers in those cities: If you go, tell us if there’s any progress via a News Tip.

This keeps getting better and better.
For the Sonic fans in Orlando, that totally sucks. I hope Sega will get a chance to fix it before it reaches its next destination in Florida.
Here we go again…
Hopefully the error codes were not related to the game itself. I think that ultimately Sonic Team knows best but if these problems are all bug related they might want to delay the game. An overall delay (for both the HD version of the game as well the 3DS version) might help fix some out standing bugs and it might also help fix certain gameplay problems. However, I realize there is a lot of pressure on these guys from Sega (for both the HD version and 3DS version) because Sega wants this game to be their big holiday seller.
Of course, we get to play the game we are at least excited for but cant play the game we are the most excited for >:|
@AM
They’re not gonna release a game that won’t even boot, lol.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much… there are probably a lot of other factors and explanations for this, and I severely doubt that “poorly programmed shitty game in need of more dev time” is the reason for this issue.
Vegas needs love to
I’m guessing they’re using the Demo trials we got around 6/23? Oh well. Well, I think the problem can be easily fixed.
Tis nothing to worry about. Remember, it’s just a demo, they wouldn’t release a game that showed an error code on boot – they have a few months left, that’s the time to polish the game. Not even Sonic 06 does that.
One word, lmfao
now this is raising a couple eyebrows
Well
I want see the NEW build!
About… physics =P
This is funny. XD
A taste of things to come
… Still want a Sonic con in Ohio.
@Sonical
What do you mean by that?
