Voted for Zelda….
I just voted for Sonic Generations. People need to start respecting Sonic again. I hope he wins
there so many mario 3ds mario kart kid icarus and sonic genrartion if i had to pick one id pick sonic
Normally I wouldn’t pick Sonic purely for the sake of it, but Generations looks pure amazing right now, sooo… Although there is Zelda :/ and we know that’ll be epic… Actually, i’ll pick Sonic. At least I dont have to fork out 50 euro for a mostly useless Wii Motion Plus to play that.
As far as i’m concerned Skyward Sword is costing me 100 to play, so its been edged out here i’m afraid.
I voted for Sonic. Super Mario 3D Land can’t beat a game like Generations!
Anyway, as much as I hate addmitting it, Sonic Generations won’t win. When Sonic goes up against something like BF3 and MW3, those crazy, and I mean SERIOUSLY CRAZY BF and COD fans get all fucking crazy, and the majority will vote for MW3 and BF3. There’s just NO stopping those crazy fans. I wish Sonic could be in a different category. Its not fair for Sonic to compete against shooters, when Sonic is about Speed and Platforming. Well, I’m looking at this from my phone, but are there categories for this? If so, then that makes it A LOT more fair for most games to compete.
@Pbsmurderer – Seriously dude? I respect your vote, but the least you could’ve done was vote for Sonic :/ Skyward Sword is gonna suck anyway IMO. That HD Zelda Game is what its gonna be all about! I might give Zelda one more shot, but Twilight Princess made me quit. The beginning was boring as fuck for me. I had to friken round up brown horses, and then I Already got bored, that I returned the game first day it came out.
Seriously though, as much as I love Mario games, I’m still gonna vote for Sonic. Again if their are categories, then nvm what I said in that first paragraph.
Whoops, nvm I was able to vote, so now I MEANT what I meant in my last comment. Seriously though, its not fair, watch either MW3 or BF3 win, and you guys KNOW it too…
@Ricardo
…I’m sorry… Did you just say you returned Twilight Princess after one day…? You returned it during the time you only got to the fucking beginning of the game…?
A soccer game was the official best in show? Really? REALLY?
@Stephan
I totally agree with you….. I returned Final Fantasy XIII after reaching halfway into the second disk, because i KNEW it wasn’t gonna get better, it wasn’t right for me. But how anyone could return a game after playing only like what… 10-30 minutes, is beyond me x.x
I’m either voting for Skyward Sword, Sonic Generations, or Kid Icarus: Uprising.
wait Kid Icarus isn’t up there!!!!! @Thomas Daly YOU LIED TO ME ROFL XD
@Ricardo: You should’ve played for longer than the tutorial. XD Twilight Princess was a great game, and I expect Skyward Sword to be similarly excellent. Granted, new Zelda games don’t excite me as much as they used to, but whatever.
Super Mario 3D Land looks…rather dull to me. I’m almost certainly going to get it anyway, since Nintendo has rarely disappointed me with any of their main games, but I’m not voting for it.
Bleh to all those FPSs. I can’t bring myself to care about them any more. I used to love them, but I guess I’ve played one too many.
Looking forward to Bioshock and Skyrim. But I’m going to vote for Sonic. It’s the game I’m most excited for, so even though I know it’s not going to win I don’t mind voting for it.
Just putting it out there!
Having the mentality “It’s not gonna win anyway so I won’t vote for it!” is just going to ensure the loss x.x
I voted for Sonic Generations. Sonic hardly gets any publicity anymore but this is freakin Sonic Generations. It might be the only real chance Sonic gets. Besides it’s his 20th anniversary game.
But it’s a tough competition against Super Mario 3DS Land, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Gears of War 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Still, that’s only because they’re so popular and good. But special, seems like Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations seems like the REAL competition. O-O
I voted mass effect, sonic generations is fine and all but you can’t deny a good space epic.
Ricardo has the attention span of a six year old XD
@dl316bh
RIGHT?? That shit shouldn’t even COUNT as a “video game”. It’s like an entirely separate experience that is nothing like traditional gaming.
I lol’d at the comments on ign. Everyone is voting for those retarded ass FPS shit “games” and I especially lol’d at a soccer “game” being the best. It’s pathetic. I best most of those idiots dont realize if it wasn’t for mario and sonic, gaming wouldnt exist. Super mario 3d land is gonna suck, hands down. Skyward Sword will be good but the wwii is so bad right now i don’t expect it to go far. Kid Icarus…….lolwtf¿ Sonic Generations is gonna make those fags think twice before buying another FPS.
@Nizamaki90
Can you give any good reasons as to how the Nintendo games will suck?
I hope the winner gonna be either Generations or Skyward Sword.Sonic and 3D Zelda are my favorite franchises.
@Renzy I don’t trust sega anymore, therefore I don’t vote. Probably just looking forward to MW3
Yeah like, I want Generations to win just cuz of it’s current situation just seems like more of a “big deal” this year than other games. You’d think it’d get a lot of attention for being a special come-back game. o.0
But even so I wouldn’t be all like “All those other games suck only Sonic should win” and blah blah. At the same time if I voted for a different game I wouldn’t come to THIS article that supports Generations’ vote and then say “I voted a different game. Generations is exciting to all hell but still doesn’t compare to… you know… a different game.”. That’s how it comes off. As someone rubbing it in right in Sonic’s nose. Just not necessary. XD
And why are ppl calling FPS games crappy? They’re popular for a reason and that’s coming from a non-FPS fan. Talking to a relative who prefers that kind of game, it’s more about strategy or skill for him. I can understand that. It’s just not the kinda thing I am entertained in being skilled by. =P Different ppl have different tastes, and FPS games are highly multiplayer. This might be a factor, guys. XD
I just voted for mw3. I don’t care for generations really.
“I just voted for mw3. I don’t care for generations really.”
In next time. Vote in DECENT game. not generic game
I’m with Ricardo. I voted for Generations, but it won’t win. The first person shooters always win in IGN’s polls.
@Lucas Hinz I vote for what I like.
I voted for Generations, since it actually looked fun. I am so sick of FPS’s (especially COD) I’m ready to make my own green hill zone with something else thats green. They’re all great contenders (except, again, an FPS, and a freaking soccer game? really?) but i think SEGA made it clear at gamescom that they’re not fucking around with Generations
Maybe I’ll still vote for generations, but I like mw3, and it seems more interesting because it’s gonna be the third MW game.
I can just tell that Genertions is gonna get pushed in the bottom ten by all of the shooters in the list. People just assume that any Sonic game released will suck because it’s a Sonic game. Still, I voted for it. And I hope Infinity Ward and Treyarch Rot in Hell for what they have done to the world of gaming. And maybe also EA. PS how did you guys look at who’s winning and everything? I can’t find it anywhere.
I voted for Generations. Sonic needs some love from more people. Mostly whoever hates Sonic is pretty much:
an A. Hardcore classic Sonic gamer, and doesn’t like the new games.
B. Played a bad Sonic game on his/her first Sonic game. (This one is the lowest percentage.)
C. They’re just a bunch of Mario fanboys who get all rowdy and claim that he’s the best.
But there’s an add-on to this (But not part of the letter itself.): and HAVE NOT PLAYED A SONIC GAME IN THEIR LIFE!! (This is the worst arguement, since I see this every now and then.
and D. They’re just joining the band wagon with their friends.
And then the game is cornered by triple-A titles like Uncharted, Battlefield, and Skyrim. And I don’t think it has any room in its space. It’s just sad.
i wonder if you can spam the vote buttons…
as much as i love sonic, i just KNOW everyone is gonna vote for mw3, a.k.a. the most generic fps ever to exist.
@Nick you’ve pretty much summed up 90% of my friends, about 70% of which are part of D. ALSO PLZ SOMEONE ANSWER MY QUESTION
I voted for generations, but I just know that the idiots who play fps games will pick MW3
Vote for sonic generations?
Why, we have not a stage from sonic 3 and knuckles separetly, we have not a sonic CD entire stage, and the stage from heroes, is a kind-of- green hill, instead bingo highway or haunted castle…wait, theres more, speed highway instead lost word or twinkle park, just another city…mmmm, let me think….
NOOOOOT.
@Nick I don’t hate sonic, but I think most sonic games are shit plain English, that’s why I stopped liking the games for that reason. I don’t trust sega anymore, because they keep on releasing games that state are supposed to be the best sonic game a fan has ever played, yet it always winds up being crappy. It’s just like in the 90s when sega kept releasing add one for the systems, and kept releasing new systems, and lost their reputation. I hate how people say if it wasn’t for sonic, games woudnt be the same, because what sonic did was for his series himself, and had no real effect on games in the future. Sonic was the only one with his own gameplay. He could have effected the industry just a tad, but most likely not, since it was sega’s own recipe. I think everyone has the right to vote for what they want, without people saying sonic should deserve more love. that’s their opinion
@Koolsk8ter111- I think MW3 might turn out like Black Ops….bad. Black ops was a rushed game that had unrealistic shooting, horrible guns, and in general, just BAD gameplay. MW2 was awsome IMO, and I still play it to this day. I was gonna get MW3, but then I looked up videos over youtube, and how people were saying that Activision doesn’t know what they’re doing, that MW3 is also being rushed, and most of all, that MW3 is just a paste and copy of 2, but w/ a new storyline, and new guns. :/ After seeing those vids, I didn’t have to think twice about buying it, because I wasn’t going to……..yup, ill just sit back and play MW2, until Activision gets their shit right.
“There are 25 amazing games on the list, each one a worthy winner. ”
That came off of IGN? That’s a good sign I hope…
Koolsk8ter- Yes, you should have the right for you to vote for who you want to vote for. But man, if your gonna say something in the comments like: “I’m voting for MW3″ then don’t even comment at all. The majority of us are here to vote for Sonic, if they really care about him. Just like pbsmurderer, no one gives a shit he voted for zelda, and no one will care either if your gonna vote for someone else.
@Stephan- yes I returned it the same day I bought it. When I play a game, I don’t want the game to have any sort of boring parts, because it brings down the game. The reason I bought it was because I looked at the trailers, and they looked pretty cool, so I picked it up. That was my first 3D Zelda game for me, so I didn’t really know how to do anything. Either way, as soon as the horse part came, I got bored. I wanted to play more to get to the good part, but I was like: “Is it worth going through a lot of boring parts, just to get to some good parts?” Then I was like hell no, and returned it. What happened to 2D Zelda? That was one of the shits back then. What happened to the good times where you can explore cave through cave, slash enemies with no problem, and get through the places quickly? Man, just thinking about it makes me wanna play it….imma have to play it on my phone now, because I got an emulator! >:)
@ChaoticFox- are you saying that because of how little I played the game? If yes, then read what I just said to Stephan.
Despite Zelda: Skyward Sword being up there, I voted for Sonic Generations.
And yeah. I don’t give a rat’s ass about CoD or BF. I mean, what the HFIL is up with these games? It’s like the Tea Party of Gaming.
MW3? Dude have you seen any BF3 footage, it looks insane. And this is from someone who is sick of war games.
Anyway, I backed SG knowing it isn’t going to be the best this year, because its a game thats more important to us fans than most of the other choices. Still, Skyrim, Skyward Sword, BF3, Arkham City, and Super Mario 3D Land are games i’ll be happy to see win, especially over Modern Warfare 3, the likely/undeserving winner :/
Just saying guys, if mw3 turns put bad then I am gonna be pissed lol. Yeah I understand that most of you are sonic fans, I am one too in a way, that is why I am here. But I vote for mw3 to express my disappointment for the sonic series. P.s. Nothing last forever on this world. Same goes for sonic, Mario, Zelda etc….
I voted for Generations…but MW3′s going to win anyway. =/
I love the way Super Mario 3D Land is going but it feels a bit empty to me, especially after playing the Galaxy series, it feels like a step back.
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword looks great but I do not want to buy a Motion Plus $20 then pay $60 for the game.
Arkham City looks good.
Diablo III definitely amazing, Blizzard has done it again.
But Sonic Generations is the clear winner, unfortunately I will not be able to get the console version because I do not have the HD consoles. However, the 3DS Mushroom Hill Zone nearly put me in a coma, it was everything I imagined it would be. I am definitely voting for Generations, the console version is amazing and the handheld version is also appealing to me.
Of course I know either Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3 will win. I really do not know why because nothing has changed since their previous version (okay maybe a few graphic updates) but it all looks the same to me. Shooters are okay but I never understand how great deep platformer games (Sonic, Mario, Little Big Planet) loose out to them. Of course what I hate the most is the ego of some the shooter fans, you show them Sonic and they automatically start saying it sucks, why does he role, why is he going too fast, why is he a hedgehog, how could that hover car support that fat Egg thing, it’s too unrealistic, blah, blah, blah.
Modern Warfare 3 baby! Whoo! They gonna have even more maps and guns to blow shit up yaaaah I can’t wait to play a NEW CoD this year its gunna be the greatest day of my life!! (until MW4 cums out lol then it will be the 2nd greatest day ever ha)
Jokes aside, If there’s one thing I love almost as much as a good Sonic game, it’s Assassin’s Creed. Almost. Gotta go with Sonic here, this should be a very special Sonic game.
It’s amazing how well these FPS sequels sell despite having so little new content to offer. OMG NEW MAPS! That’s worth like, what, 5 bucks as DLC? lol
@ChaoticFox
I’ve never really understood that.
Go Sonic. I voted for SG; I know it won’t win, but I’m still excited.
@AM
I actually like the way Super Mario 3D Land plays rather than the Galaxy series. O.O
I voted for Sonic Generations to win but I also want The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to be victorious as well. Super Mario 3D Land looks fun (though not as fun as the Galaxy games). I’m also looking forward to Batman: Arkham City and Bioshock Infinite.
I’m sick and tired of FPS like MW3 and Battlefield 3 hogging the spotlight. The only good ones are those made by Valve Software (Half-Life, Portal Left 4 Dead, and TF2).
I just don’t like first person games in general.
3rd person for me.
