Fancy Some Football? How About Some Judo?
To complement this morning’s catch-up on Sonic Generations, we have below a couple videos from last week’s Gamescom pertaining to Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The first video showcases some soccer–known as football outside the United States–and most amusingly, Eggman looking to almost kick Birdo in her/his/its face.
The second video is from the 3DS edition, has Tails knocking Mario to the ground in that edition’s Judo stage, in what will be a moment of small triumph for many fans.
Both those events are below. We again thank our tipsters for tipping us to these and other videos over the weekend.

I did not expect to be the first to see this announcement. I’m looking forward to the addition of soccer since I’ve never played a Mario Strikers game.
soccer looks fun.
is that Birdo.
Oh I get it XD One character is the goalie. There are two of the same character. One is red. One is blue ^-^
I wonder unlockable characters will be?
Speed: Diddy Kong, Jet, Toad, Espio
Power: Omega, Dry Bowser, Big, King Boo
Skill: Rosalina, Rouge, Hammer Bro, Wave
All-Around: Cream, Dry Bones, Storm, Toadette
i refuse to acknowledge Birdo as a guy.
Needs more charas.
Rouge-Rosalina. Jet-diddy.
@darkgomugomu She’s a Man in Japan *trollface*
@Ananze NO. I REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE BIRDO AS A GUY
as much as i like sonic more than mario, mario strikers looks way better than this soccer game
0:48 (second video) THAT’S RIGHT!
What’s up with the Judo game? What is this, an RPG?
Who’s that one-eyed guy between Chao and Toad? (end of the judo video)
Awsome Soccer
hehe Eggman kicks ass there! That judo game didn’t convinced me, they should add Taekwondo instead
@EnzeruAnimeFan
Strikers Charged is WAAAY better than this. I do want to see if there’s a Dream Soccer though, that should be neat.
@Frankthehedghog105
He’s one of the Olympic Games’ official mascot. There’s two of ‘em but I don’t know either’s name.
The soccer portion looks too simple, and it hurts me because SEGA has done SEGA Soccer Slam while Nintendo had Mario Strikers, and this is the best the both could do? Granted, it’s meant to play out “normally”, but I hope they have a Dream Soccer that’s as exiting as the games I mentioned.
Some of you people forget this is not a full fledged soccer game, this has multiple events and SEGA is not going to devote all their time into one minigame.
I like that they incorporated Birdo somewhat. Also the 3DS version has really good graphics.
