Dates Announced for SAGE 2011

Get Your Fan Game on September 18th through 24th
Today, the first details were released concerning the 2011 Sonic Amateur Games Expo, which will mark its eleventh year celebrating Sonic fan games in less than a month’s time.

Dates for this year are September 18th through 24th, butting up with the very end of the Tokyo Game Show. Interested participants are required to have a booth banner, a URL, and a web page that can fit a 625×390 space, according to the SAGE splash page. The deadline for booth entries is September 14th, and interested parties can get the E-mail address to submit in last sentence’s hyperlink.

Concurrent with SAGE will be the annual Sonic Hacking Contest, where members of the Sonic Stuff Research Group will judge public and semi-private hacks of Sonic games community members have created over a seven month period.

I didn’t know there were enough Sonic fan-made games to make a whole convention about it. I know some were pretty big, but there are that many?

With Sonic GDK being released to the public, it’ll be great to see what people have been doing with it. (If more people than the ones on youtube have been using it, that is…)
