At the end where classic sonic finished sky sanctuary I see birds sitting around the eggman sign.
@ChaoticFox
Yeah, that Metal Sonic animation was wierd. I have a feeling that was an animation that wasn’t supposed to be seen from that angle. Like, I’m thinking that wasn’t a cut scene but just a shot they set up quickly to capture for the trailer.
@Foxboy
A really big killing robot isn’t the same as an “all powerful entity”. At the very least, it’s not as over-the-top. It makes a bit more sense within the universe.
Personally my only issue with their being a monster final boss is the idea that they somehow keep finding a new one that was supposedly never-before-seen.
See, that’s another thing. It seems like every other adventure now, Sonic is saving the planet/galaxy from some supremely ultimate force. That’s just TOO much, whether it’s robotic or biological. Sonic does not need to consistently face down the PERSONIFICATION OF EVIL ITSELF in order to stay “cool”. The opening cinematic of Sonic Unleashed honestly seemed like the perfect level of confrontation. It hit all the right notes. I would honestly be pleased if the series never went beyond that level of “epicness”
Fight something almost as small as Sonic but really tough.
If that were possible (yay Metal/Mecha Sonic fights!) that COULD be really cool, but Sega’s dropped the ball on this literally every time they’ve tried it (even in S3K it wasn’t that good). Since Sonic isn’t a fighting game, the combat doesn’t really translate as well to a smaller scale. You just end up with two small balls jumping at each other… not very exciting. It reminds me of how freaking TERRIBLE the Green Forest Shadow battle was, or even the confrontation with Knuckles in SA1 (3 super easy hits, game over)
But I definitely agree with you about them making Robotnik too much of a clown. I don’t mind his sense of humor and light-heartedness (I actually think it’s quite charming that he’s not super serious about being evil all the time), but I hate that they’ve turned him into something of a bumbling buffon. Even AoStH’s Robotnik had more villain cred… it was usually his lackeys that screwed everything up.
So… basically what you just said to QuietGuy. lol
@ChaoticFox
The thing is though you “fans” whine about stupid and minor things to making it such a big deal it’s pathetic yet funny.The whining,the complaining,the gaming, the money, the whining, the complaining, the gaming ,the money ,the green eyes which also equal the whining the gaming, the complaining ,the money ,the new characters the whining the complaining ,the gaming ,the money , the yellow the whining the complaining THE MONEY same concept ELEVEN YEARS and repeat. Sega will never completely please you “fans” so in the end it hopeless the whine. Am I right or am I right? =D
@KoolCartoons: So what about the people like me who tried Sonic 4 and immediately spat it back out and refused to buy any Sonic games? I’ve even refused buying Colours. I’d like to thank game rental services! This way I don’t have to give Sega money (i.e. exactly what they want most) and I get try out their latest venture into mediocrity. I win and they lose. Thanks Redbox/Gamefly!
@KoolCartoons: And if you didn’t get the hint, you’re wrong. Sometimes we won’t even bother with rental. A picture’s worth a thousand words after all, and the footage of any Sonic game speaks millions on the franchise’s behalf.
@Kool
You’re not even attempting to be logical or reasonable at this point, and you’re making so many broad assumptions and generalizations about people it’s no wonder your opinion is so fucked up. I’m not even going to bother trying to convince you of anything else. It’d likely just go right over your head. Good day.
@Greg “The Cat” Longcrier
You tried to make sense of Nicole that alone tell me how much sense you have.
@ChaoticFox
What I said is pretty much true in the end.
If by “what you said” you mean the verbal proof that you are an ignorant fool, then I agree wholeheartedly
@ChaoticFox
Ah look the little baby wants to result in name calling are ,you sad because you shit in you pant you poor pathetic thing =D.
@ ChaoticFox
On second thought forget ,y previous comment it I shouldn’t waste my time arguing with a idiot.
@Kool
He’s absolutely right. Look at your completely messed up opinion that you try to pass off as “fact”. With all these assumptions and generalizations, it’s obvious that you don;t really know what’s really wrong with the franchise.
And does giving valid arguments on this issue really make CF an idiot? Oh yeah, you refuse to read!
@ChaoticFox
Please, do bother.
@ushroM
The reality is that the money has very little to do with it. Sonic 06 is a “platinum hit” and Sega still recognizes it as a god-awful game, even going as far as to (allegedly) pull it from store shelves. With Sega’s new tendency to start taking metacritic scores seriously and their stellar attempts at community outreach, things like fan opinion are starting to have more weight than ever before.
We got Unleashed because we hated literally everything about Sonic 06 – the daytime stages were the “return to form” we had been promised but not given. We got Sonic Colors because we praised those stages, but panned the Werehog (even the lighter story seems to be the result of our constant bitching about the storylines being too “dark”). We started getting all these Sonic-only games because 06 pushed us over the edge with the ever-frustrating Adventure tactic of giving us multiple playable characters who weren’t fun. We got Generations, in part, because oh how hard we bitched about Sonic 4. The game itself may have been conceptualized before then, but I guarantee the inclusion of classic Sonic was a direct result of all the “classic model” campaigns created around Sonic 4, and you can bet your ass they tried to pay a lot more attention to the physics this time around (not that they’re perfect).
Sonic Team is making great progress toward new and better Sonic games, and it’s BECAUSE we, as fans, let them know what was wrong with past installments. They don’t listen to everything we say, and Iizuka’s an arrogant stubborn ass, but our voices are being heard. Sonic Team’s not just magically making better games – it’s because we’re helping steer Sonic in the right direction. Not just with criticism, but also with praise (when it’s deserved).
Progress is never ending. We’re never going to get the “perfect Sonic game” that pleases everyone and leaving us with nothing to complain about. But complaining helps keep that wheel moving forward. Kool, of course, is incapable of understanding this. We’re perfectly capable of buying a game and still pointing out its flaws.
Exchanging dollars for content does not automatically signify 100% approval OF the content. In essence, by buying games AND complaining about them, we are both reinforcing what Sega has done right and pointing out where they’ve gone wrong. Arguably, that’s even better for the series than boycotting something just because we have an issue with it.
So fuck you, Kool. You just got curb-stomped by reason.
