Any Classic Homing Attack in Sight?
Since many of you are suddenly interested again in the 3DS edition of Sonic Generations since our story Friday (which we still stand by), we figured we would share more shots of the game’s Green Hill Zone, as captured by French site Wiiz.fr.
The shots, released only to European nations, span both classic and modern stages. You won’t see the homing attack in the classic areas, but you will see the ending poses for both Sonics. We suspect this may be from either a somewhat earlier build, or because we understand these are directly from Sega Europe, the company is trying very hard to hide what we reported Friday and in fact had a screencap of from Nintendo’s Japan press conference last week.
Still, have a look in the gallery below. Thanks to sonichedgehog for tipping us. If you have news to share, click News Tips at the top of every page, or you can tip us on Twitter.

I gotta say, I like how they’re using the Adventure-era checkpoints.
Green Hill Zone looks very improved, but the newer zones on the 3DS version look better.
I JUST NOW realized that Modern Sonic can slide in the 3DS version. XD
INSIDE SOURCE YUJI NAKA OR TAKASHI IIZUKA?
Think about it! Who else would be backstage in private playing build of game that press dont know about. Who else could source be. can you ask naka-san or iizuka-san more specifics about it like how radical highways plays
Eclipse
checkpoint is analgamation of sonic 1 and 2 checkpoints in 3D
@SSJSonicXX14
I think he means that he likes that it’s the Adventure checkpoint rather than the stuff they did afterwards.
To be fair, what you just pointed out is probably WHY they used the Adventure checkpoint. So that you could see it from the front and side and see that it’s pretty much the Sonic 1 Checkpoint only it doesn’t just stand straight up til after going through it.
still no proof on the HA?
lolwut
Newton badnik is blue?
3DS version fail
WAIT.. it’s a joke =P
Well, great improviments, but please dimps, don’t put H.A in classic.
also, what’s that “?” thing on the loop picture for classic sonic?
Green Hill zone has improved so much since E3, I’ve actually completely forgotten what the old version looked like or why we were even mad at it in the first place, but who could stay mad just looking at these and itching for the day we finally get to play this in our hands.
November can’t come any quicker!
Seriously I have no memory at all of the E3 GHZ, would make for some interesting side by side comparrisons though.
Green Hill is looking good like Mushroom Hill and Launch Base though I’m still sold on the PS3 version. But maybe I’ll pick this up when the price goes down.
this far in and no sign of a homing attack? I’m starting to suspect b.s. in the whole h.a. debacle
Tristan I still don’t believe the garbage that you are throwing around to be true.
On another note. Green Hill zone is improving more and more I guess since the console version is done Sonic team and Dimps are working full force on this
tails its going to be playable in sonic 3ds?
Sam: Enjoy living in denial, then.
-T
tristan the reason I don’t believe you or your source is why would there be a media event then no one outside of those who attend can see what is in store. It a media event so it has to come out. Nothings out and your source is a lier to boot
Sam: I’ll amend my statement since it’s clear you don’t know how this industry works.
Enjoy blindly living in denial.
-T
hey T, do you know what the “?” button on the touch screen is? SuperSonic?
If your site “supposedly” isn’t affliated to anything that has to do with Sega and can in turn post things out of free will. Then why don’t you show us any type of proof of Radical Highway. Sure your source asked to be annonomus but then it wouldn’t affect him/her if you release something, many other people attended the event other than your “source”
Tails will never Be Playable ever again…Boohoo….Boohoo..*Nicholas Cadge*
No but really playing as Tails would be cool for once
And that Plane Section in SU/SWA was not playing as Tails, that was a bad, and easy mini game T_T
@Sam
I’ve seen more people talking about Radical Highway being in the game and I assume they got their information from other sources. Despite the fact that not everything on TSSZ is accurate, most of the stuff is and I do not think you should be taking on this attitude with Tristan, he is doing his best to give us accurate news and he is also running this great site.
lol Tristan Oliver sounds like a complete pompous ass. Whether or not you’re right (about what, I don’t know), I like how you talk down to people as if you’re better than them or if you’re somehow less nerdy than them. Man, grow up.
@AM
Not really. They see it here, casually mention it offhand on boards like Retro, more people see it assume it’s true and spread it around and so on and on.
Tristan:
Honestly you sound like you’re in it yourself. Talk more about this source just a little bit, you seem to think people should buy it on blind faith alone, hence why many don’t believe it. Where is Bayonetta 2?
@Sam
The source is anonymus so they can’t reveal the source. But the source IS the proof you’re asking for. lol This is one of those things where there’s no screenshot, vid or interview and the source itself is the only proof. Since it’s to be anonymous, there’s nothing to show.
Honestly, I think it’s possible H.A. won’t be in Classic Sonic’s moveset but I think it’s also very possible and likely. I mean I think I even recall it being mentioned in an interview recently but I don’t remember. Why don’t you just wait and see, SAYUM!? D:< lol
Sideshowshayne T_T you are mean
To Sam and everyone else:
Go to Sega’s Flickr page. Find the photo of the Sega employee manning the table in front of a couple private booths.
Those are the entrances to the private demonstrations that took place at TGS. This is not an abnormal occurrence. It happened at E3. It probably will happen at NYCC next month.
Between that, the eyewitness account we have, and the damn photo found last week before we had it confirmed…I don’t know what else I can do. I’m not going to out a source telling the truth just because you don’t like what he or she has to say.
-T
@Classic Green Eyes
Sam’s been asking for it. There’s not really any other way to respond to him at this point.
@Sonical
Who the fuck cares? He could “talk” about his source all day long, but he could just as easily be making that information up as well. If you don’t trust him now, what makes you think additional un-verifiable information is going to make you feel any better about Tristan’s credibility? You and Sam are obviously not going to be convinced until some other website confirms this same information, so why don’t you both just shut up and wait for that to happen, rather than pointlessly badgering Tristan about it?
still nothing on the “?” button? some people say that it’s the help button (kinda like Omochao) ._.
Also, Tristan. Just tell me this:
is the HA OPTIONAL or am i forced to used it after the Classic Era? by optional, i don’t mean like turning it off, by optional i mean that i don’t have to use it to complete the level.
Wow, 33.53 seconds on Green Hill Act 1? That person playing for the screenshots is good.
Let Sam have his stand. We all need freedom of expression, I use my hair to express myself.
My sources also tell me Tails was replaced by a floating rabbit in the 3DS version.
@Sam
Because everybody knows that SEGA would post fake info of Generations on its official site.
Whoops, ignore my last comment.
@ Sonical: Your right, its because of this site that some sites see this as true. Sonic Stadium is one of the only ones so far not to place anything on its site because the “friend of a friend of a friend who happened to be at the event” is not really reliable.
@ChaoticFox
Because it’s in the some league as “my uncle works for Nintendo and he says _____”.
The private booths are for personal showings to various members of the press to give them a better more controlled look than the showfloor can provide. Did Sega put some embargo on it or what?
Sonical: Yes. They did.
In fact, I understand IGN has an embargo on some sort of Sonic Generations preview for Monday.
-T
@Sam
“why would there be a media event then no one outside of those who attend can see what is in store. It a media event so it has to come out.”
Hahaha wooooooooowwww… You really don’t know how this industry works.
I think the IGN embargo is only for IGN themselves I saw the preview and that’s the take that I get from it.
@X:
@X: :}
@Sonical
Who cares what league it’s in? Even if it were an up-front lie, what fucking difference does it make to you? Are you the accuracy-police on some noble quest to save the internet from false information?
My point still stands. The truth will come to light eventually, and since you’re not inclined to believe TSSZ (not that you have to), why not just brush it off as bs and move on until this is either confirmed or debunked by someone you DO trust?
Should this turn out to be false information, you’d be more than welcome to “I told you so” to your heart’s content. But until then, you can’t really prove that T is full of shit any more than he can prove that he isn’t.
@chaotic fox:you know this is fake information. just stop kidding yourself.
@Sam
And you should get a fucking life and realize that a potential falsehood on the internet isn’t the end of the goddamn world. Go find some other pathetic way to waste your time.
@Chaotic fox: I’m not wasting my time
I’m having a laugh at your little temper tanterum
And so the troll admits to his crimes. You’re just being an obnoxious little cunt for the sole purpose of agitating people. Cute!
asf
Fake
news only to get site hits
@chaotic fox: only wanted to agitate YOU
Once again Tristan torches the trolls xD
