Many Sonic Fans Displeased with Sega Decision
When the Sonic Generations Collector’s Edition was announced only for European regions, Australia and New Zealand, a lot of fans in North America lashed out at the company for not caring about those who, arguably, made Sonic a household name in its infancy.
The results of the latest TSSZ News @Issue poll clearly indicate that discontent. We asked if you were angry at Sega for limiting the CE to only Europe and Australia. Though the first couple days showed outright anger, but in the end, somewhat clearer heads prevailed, albeit not by much.
Our results show out of 1,486 votes, 35 percent indicated they were “Disappointed” but not angry. Still, another 31 percent said they were outright “Angry” at the news. That means almost two thirds of respondents indicated a negative reaction to the shutout.
A quarter of respondents, 25 percent, indicated they were unaffected by the news due to living in Europe or Australia. Only 9 percent indicated they weren’t angry or disappointed.

While I’m dissaponited in Sega for not bringing Generations CE to the US, I’ll just watch the extra content on Youtube when it arrives.

Here’s the problem:
American Sonic fans can’t buy the Collector’s Edition because its European/Australian ONLY. Some will attempt to import the game but waiting isn’t going do anything.

I hardly think the appeal of the CE was the documentary. That collector’s statue and ring aren’t gonna do you much good on youtube

The documentary as well as the art booklet sounds nice but the REAL appeal are those two.

I think the new poll should had been about the classic HA in Generations….but that’s just me.

yeah, an interesting new poll could of been ‘do you dislike that classic sonic has a homing attack on the 3DS’ with either yes, no or don’t mind
even though i saw footage of a guy playing it at gamefest 2011 and there were no signs of a homing attack.

Ok thank you for informing me. I didn’t see this news on any of the sites where I receive info for upcoming games on including this one.
What the actual fuck? Whose crazy-ass idea was it to only have the collector’s editon available to everyone except the two regions that gave Blue his claim to fame??? I don’t understand companies sometimes. If it’s a money issue then they really shouldn’t have to worry about it. We Sonic fans will still buy it if it’s an extra 10 bucks more – I mean we bought Sonic 06, right? XD
I’m just so dissapointed in Sega. I’ve been a faithful fan of Sonic ever since I was a baby, as much of us are. I would like a little recognition of my dedication…
I’m course very dissappointed at SEGA’s choice about the CE not being sold in the US it isn’t fair especially after they held that Sonic Boom event in LA for the fans in the US & if I remember right what we got with Sonic 06 was a little Sonic statue which looked cool (even though it was bundled with the worse game in the series) & all we got with Chornicles was stupid styluses I’m still hoping they annouce the CE for US becuase no way in hell I’m importing it from the UK
