Explore More with Both Sonics
Via the website Gamefront.de and found by SSMB member Neon, there are several new shots of Seaside Hill from Sonic Generations to share from both classic and modern variants.
We should note that though these shots appear to focus more on classic Sonic, though we should caution the Colors perspective modern Sonic will use from time to time may trick your eyes…especially with that wall jump shot.
Take a look at them in the gallery below. We’ll bring you more when they become available.

beautiful. I’m loving the representation of Seaside hill. One of my favorite zones of sonic heroes
Oh, look.
Those giant rolling boulders are back.
/And apparently reproduced like rabbits since I last saw them/. Oh god.
((but no, yeah, these screenies look nice))
I’m sure I speak for most people when I say I was furious when I first saw the leaked list. I was like ‘green hill and seaside hill? outrageous!!’ But ever since seeing footage and images, seaside hill looks like one of the most impressive stages in my opinion! I loved sonic heroes!
…This is a Green Hill clone…?
“…This is a Green Hill clone…?”
Green Hill:
Forest with tropical island background.
Seaside:
Water Level with undewater parts in classic era.
I surprised no one has commented on the fact that modern Sonic is limited on the areas where he can use the wall jump?
Are TSSZ and TSS friends? Just wondering.
@Lucas Hinz:
More like…
Green Hill:
Hilly tundra by the ocean.
Seaside Hill:
Lively active ruins by the seaside.
My God, does Seaside Hill look beautiful or what? I can already hear the modern remix playing in my head while I can’t wait to hear the a remix for the classic sections.
You know, I don’t even see why they bother to call it Seaside Hill when it’s based off of Ocean Palace. Plus, I think the Ocean Palace theme fits Modern Sonic better.
…so who else is waiting to see giant turtles with islands and cannons on their backs?
Seaside hill?…well, is cool anyway.
We need Sonic 3′s Carnival night
to have at least one “casino-carnival-fun” stage.
SEGA, dont forget 3-CD stages.
@ricardo No…far from it.
TSS= The Sonic Stadium (arguably the Number 1 sonic fan site)
TSSZ= The Super Sonic Zone (news site)
No relation at all. And I would know. I’m a staff member of SSR =SEGA Sonic Radio. A branch of The Sonic Stadium.
Wow. This is going to be my favorite level, I can tell right now. Look at all those giant rolling rocks in Modern Sonic’s levels….
Seaside hill looks amazing, too legit
@krazeeKidd102:
That’s a good point. It is more like Ocean Palace than Seaside Hill. I guess they’re combining both Seaside Hill and Ocean Palace as one. It might make sense in this case because in Heroes, you always had two sets of stages in one setting. For example:
The Ocean – Seaside Hill; Ocean Palace
The Engery Plant – Grand Metropolis; Power Plant
The Casino – Casino Park; BINGO Highway
…and the list goes on.
@Cdrom1019 – Oh okay..I just don’t understand why Retro and Stadium aren’t liked by Zone. Does Stadium dislike Zone too, or does Zone hate Stadium? Or is it both? Lol they should just be affiliates.
More like Hydrocity Hill….
Ricardo: I, too, would enjoy world peace. Unfortunately it’s not that easy anymore, and it’s partially due to the fact both sites and the people behind them have, at one point or another, been subjects of stories on this site.
Whether the wounds from that can be mended may, I think, depend on how long the community in whole can keep the peace.

Amazing visuals is HIGHLY amazing. Sonic Team did a marvelous job with the background & foreground visuals. Despite the fact you’ll be BOOOSHING past the scenery, it’s still a marvelous sight to look at.
Looks good. Am impressed. Want game.
I love this stage I can’t wait to see Speed Highway & Crisis City
Perceberam que as texturas parecem ser as mesmas do Sonic All Star Racing?
They realized that the textures seem to be the same as Sonic All Star Racing?
Lovin seaside hill!! A complete difference form Green Hill! Green Hill is a tropical area with water, palm trees, totems, pointy flowers, and checkerboard ground. Seaside Hill is more of a tropical BEACH setting with sand and everything and plus it has nice red and white ruins which adds alot more detail and variety to the level! And even though the list looks short, That was a leak of the prototype build! There may be more, if not im sure they will have extra zones as DLC but all we can do is hope.
I feel so sad for everyone that is still in denial over that list being final…
Anyway, Seaside Hill is beautifurrr. Can’t wait to see all the intricacies.
Tristan: I understand.
Hey guys isn’t the Sonic Generations rooftop run demo suppose to be release soon. It’s been a rumor goin around for quite awhile saying that the demo is releasing in late September or Early October
Really liking seaside hill…..A LOT.
Don’t take me wrong, I’m loving these screenshots, but I swear, if they were gonna make Seaside Hill look more like Ocean Palace than the original, they should have stuck with Ocean Palace
The music in Ocean Palace kick Seaside Hill’s ass anyway lol
@ Nuzamaki90: maybe they were afraid that people would critizes that Seaside was Green Hill tribute. So they took Ocean Palaces “new-ness” to represent Heroes. Though your right Would it have really cost them that much to name it Ocean Palace?
more like ocean palace to me
@Nuzumaki
No dice bro. Seaside Hill’s music alone was enough reason to use that as the name for this stage. Ocean Palace’s bgm is pretty weak overall, with the exception of a few choice sections.
First impressions are also the most lasting ones. People playing through Sonic Heroes will more often remember Seaside Hill than Ocean Palace. Besides, Seaside Hill did have those ruins too, which took up more and more of the landscape as the stage went on.
Wow…. as much as I despise water levels in Sonic games (I despise them in a good way) this one looks awesome! And it’s especially cool for me because I didnt play Heroes (other than a quick demo on the Gamecube). And for me, it dosent matter if It looks like Ocean palace or whatever, it’s gonna be new for me anyway!
… Still wonder what SEGA could have done with Hidrocity and Aquatic ruins….
Oh, by the way, ChaoticFox, thanks for the hint for Sonic Colors, about Super Sonic. I’m nearly done getting all the red rings. I’ll let you know when I get Super Sonic (You’ll probably hear me yelling from my home!)
@Jam
You’re welcome
Those rings really help with the S-ranks too (not that you get anything for earning them). I had so much fun beating the shit out of that game though.
@Tristan For what it’s worth, if you continue going down the path you are right now, which is to say if you refrain from making articles that attempt to discredit my boss, Dreadknux, or it’s writers such as shadzster (which it should be noted that you have been fairly good about recently) I see no reason why peace would not be maintained with TSSZ and “The Axis of Evil” aka Sonic Stadium, Sonic Wrecks, and Sonic Retro.
