More Than Half the Gamerscore Based on Secrets
If the list of Sonic Generations achievements from XBOX360Achievements.org is anything to work off of, it’s safe to assume there is plenty more about the game we won’t know about until it’s in our hands.
Out of a possible 1,000 Gamerscore achievable in-game, almost half of it can only be won through secret, not yet revealed achievements. Those secrets in of themselves make up more than half of the game’s more than 50 possible accomplishments.
The list confirms there will be upgradable skills in-game, but take comfort; the list also indicates any upgrades will be limited to Modern Sonic in Acand it also confirms you’ll be at least talking with some of Sonic’s friends in-game. There are also Challenge Acts that feature Sonic’s friends, though whether you’ll be playing as them at any point isn’t so clear from this alone.

So it seems that you can talk to Sonic’s friends, there’s a ranking attack, collectable skills, and a Challenge mode, eh…
Seems like a nice balance between Sonic Colours and Sonic Unleashed, as long as there isn’t anything mind bogglingly tortuous such as trying to complete Eggmanland’s Crimson Carnival’s Hot Dog stand I’ll be more than willing to attempt a 1000/1000G.score with this.
The ‘talking to Sonic’s friends’ achivement reminds me of the ‘talk to all the pedestrians’ achivement in Sonic Unleashed, which could mean the possibility of Sonic Unleashed style’d Hub Worlds based on each area of the game.
I would love to see how that turns out, in fact I can’t wait.
I wonder what the skills are?
@Stephan Chances are, you start from zero. If it’s anything to base off Unleashed, then it’s the Light Speed Shoes, stomping, and so on.
Though now I’m curious for Classic Sonic.
Collectibles! Awesome! And if there are hubs, I bet I’ll get to see Big by the lake in the background of that one party screenshot we saw! This is so cool!
more than half of the achievements are secrets? well thats fucked up, at least make 10 secret achievements. not over 25 :/ meh, nothings ever perfect is it? X)
lol you can chat whit your friends
@Phew
What do you mean? That’s a good thing! That means there’s alot more to this game than what we’ve seen. Can’t spoil everything.
Ring King???
Ding Ding Ding get the Ring Ring Ring, I’m the Sonic of Electronic ,and I’m gonna be The King
Nice Smile*Don’t Touch it!!” Nice Nice Smile*Don’t Touch it!!” Nice Smile Nice Smile*Don’t Touch it!!” Wheres that DAMN FOURTH CHAOS EMERALD.
@Vizardjeffhog possibly the upgrades for Classic Sonic will allow you to use the elemental shields from Sonic 3&K. And maybe the super peel out from Sonic CD
@ Jmack
We pretty much almost know everything. What I meant was when I’m actually playing the game and i’m trying to collect achievements and half of them i dont even know what to do to get it, its annoying lol
It doesnt matter anyway, gamespot.com will have the achievement list for me! lol X)
I guess you get abilities in this like in Adventure, Adventure 2, and Unleashed…. Cool!
what is a sonic game with out the light speed dash *looks at green wisp from Colours*
6 weeks and 1 day
Red Rings!!!!
Sounds good, I’d lol so hard if friends followed u cuz then Knuckles would be boosting XD
Actually it’s been confirmed that they will follow you, so It’s very likely they will boost.
So in otherwords still nothing special.
Funny they actually call them “Star Rings” just like me, but I guess it’s not suprising. I mean what else you gonna call them? Sure we can say “Red Rings” as a nickname but then we can’t call the other ones “Gold Rings” cuz then ppl will think you mean the regular rings and not the Gold Star Rings. lol
ANYHOO, I see a “Ranking Attack”? Well at least we get modes again. It’s been a while.
And I also spy a remark about whether or not we’ll be playing as other characters is certain… as if it isn’t already certain. lol I can hear Sonic Team now. “No means no! Gah!” lmao
@sjmaster
Where is it confirmed? I don’t recall them confirming that at all. Even if it is, who’s to say you’ll be able to boost in sections where they follow you? Maybe like in Unleashed where you can’t boost in Hub Worlds (you were only able to in the mini-hub worlds where the stage gates are located.)
OR maybe they don’t boost and get left behind but catch up like Tails in the Classic games. lol
@sjmaster
PS: Sorry if I sounded rude there. Just a heads up, I’m not doubting you. I was actually asking cuz I haven’t read the next article yet so if it’s confirmed there well I guess I’ll find out. xD
Sounds like the usual stuff… I’ve 1000g’d SU and Sonic 06 so this should be easier purely because unlike the other two, Generations actually looks fun to play…
I still remember having to complete Eggman Land without dying :¦ Seriously what kind of hot dog is worth that kind of struggle lol
Way to go Tristan I gave you guys the news tip and you just ignore mentioning my name at least.
I finished Eggmanland HD without dying some time ago, and I tried it again earlier this week and did it again, this time with a new score record. After going through all of the Adventure Pack stages, Eggmanland actually doesn’t feel that hard.
No doubt “Challenge Acts” refers to optional stages like in Sonic Unleashed that were ramped up a ton in difficulty, or perhaps even a hard mode like many 3-D Sonic games have had since Sonic Adventure 2. (It was a small letdown that one didn’t exist in Sonic Colors.)
What I’m wondering is what a “30-Second Trial” could be.
IM GETTING ALL OF EM FOR XBOX360 THIS GAME WILL BE SO EPIC! I CANT WAIT!
