That’s one persistent whale
Woun has tipped us off that his site, “Sonic Scene” has new images of Emerald Coast from Sonic Generations for the 3DS, showing more images of the famous Orca chase, classic Jump pads and more. I’ve attached some of the images below – there’s more on Sonic-Scene. Obviously, a big thanks goes out to Woun for the tip.

At the risk of sounding redundant, this Emerald Coast reminds me a lot of Wave Ocean.
That doesn’t look particularly good to be honest. It looks so barren compared to the console version, the graphics don’t look too hot either compared to Mario Land 3D or Mario Kart 7. It’s decent, but not much more. I hope it runs smoothly.
Looks alright. Can’t wait to hear the music!
The rest of the screenshots are on the link to Sonic Scene website guys. And I like how it’s looking to be honest, hopefully it takes inspiration from other stages like Neo green hill Zone and Wave ocean too
0_0 This game is showing Sonic’s true power.I though Adult Sonic was way faster and skilled than Young Sonic but they’re almost the same.
How does that comment have anything to do with the screens? On topic, I’m not a big fan of Emerald Coast, but I’m looking forward to this on 3DS mainly because dimps might actually have to make brand new levels for this world, rather than cheaply copy and pasting them.
Hey TSWZ News i still havent seen any classic homing at- *shot*
I guess that proves it.
NEW SONIC GENERATIONS DREAMCAST RIVAL FOR 3DS
The whale.
Seeing these photos makes me disappointed that Emerald Coast, the first stage from Sonic Adventure, is going to be in the 3DS version. Sure we’re getting Seaside Hill from Heroes in the console versions but in my opinion, this zone deserves better.
@QuietGuy92- You said it. Also, Emerald Coast’s music was kick-ass!

Why is Classic Sonic floating? I hope that’s not an uncurling issue D:
@Ricardo
the pics look kinda pre-Gamescom
The pic is not here but the one in Sonic Scene where the Orca is about to eat M.Sonic, to me it looks like M.Sonic design resembles his Dreamcast appearance. I know these are only screenshots but it looks that this is an original stage for both C. and M. Sonic and no copy paste
ps1 graphics
The 3DS is more powerful than a Dreamcast and Nintendo fitted Mario 64 onto a normal DS, so the lack of behind view 3D gameplay just shows how lazy Dimps are in my oppinion.
BTW most 3DS graphics look bad in screen shots due to scalling down and resizing, so I hope this is the problem with these screen shots as that isn’t even DS quality.
@Ricardo
The 3DS version no longer has Uncurling problems, well the demo i played didn’t
@Poxuz
Why are you comparing it to games produced by people that developed the 3DS, and even those games dont look all that (since i played them both), Street fighter and Res are the only good games i have on my 3DS, forget Zelda pfft
@Tundiam
YEAH, LET’S FORGET ABOUT THE FRANCHISE THAT HASN’T COME OUT WITH A BAD GAME IN MORE THAN A DECADE!! THATS A GREAT THING TO DO!
I’m sure the gameplay is fine and the music too, but the graphics are kind of late PSP-ish
Jeez, all these 3DS levels look so empty. Graphically nice, yes, but the level layouts look so bland compared to the console version.
Prove me wrong, Dimps!
The level looks fine guys chill. Of course visually compared to the console version its inferior, plus all 3DS screenshots of any game look a little wacko but when you are actually playing the game on the thing it looks great.
@Ricardo
Calm down there’s no uncurling…a number of things could have happened to make him look like that.
Lets compare then Green Hill Zone’s first preview to the one we saw a few days ago. The Green Hill from E3 had hardly any background other than water and a few far distant islands. Gamescom’s Green Hill showed us that the islands were now closer to the front. So lets give Emerald Coast a chance.
I don’t have problem with music, gameplay btw about generations 3DS
But, look the stone…
A deformed cube with 10×10 texture.
Btw, the HD version is perfect for me in graphics.
Not gonna lie, this seems pretty weak in comparison to some of the other stages we’ve seen. Maybe it’ll improve before the final release, like GHZ did. Guess we’ll see. I’m hoping we get some sort of HD whale chase (or something) from Seaside Hill, otherwise I’m gonna feel a bit shafted
Looking forward to the music though, regardless.
@Worthy SEGA should of ditched DIMPS and got better handheld developers… AT LEAST for this game…
@Dan, I agree, maybe Sega should have got Nintendo to work on this game with them instead of Mario and Sonic at the olympics.
@Worthy
Nintendo isn’t developing M&S, Sega is.
They should totally let Nintendo make a Sonic game though. If anyone could do him justice, it’s them.
@x:The music is already out.

And also I see that button prompts from Unleashed will be returning…
They are being a bit too faithful to the original level so the background is pretty empty, they should have put bits of the resort from the start of the stage and Station Square in the background to liven it up.
@ Sonical
We haven’t seen the start of the level for classic sonic so Station Square could still show up. Plus it seems that M.Sonic’s level takes place in the second part of emerald coast
lol at:
-Bitches bitching about the 3D camera when M. Sonic in Generations HD is just 2D M. Sonic with a 3D camera ROFL
-Bitches bitching about graphics ROFL
-Bitches bitching about how the level design is so empty when they haven’t even see them ROFL
So…
Will we get any handheld stages at all?!!
@lolwut
Just sayin’ meng, 3DS can do better than PSP graphics.
Bitching because people are bitching is kind of backwards?
@KnucklesChaotix
On Jun’s Twitter feed, it is said that EC and Tropical Resort were played from their respective games. Chemical Plant, Seaside Hill and Spagonia for one all had Generations to list to.
Just because it was at TGS doesn’t mean it was all Generations.
And I honestly wish we don’t see Tropical Resort on the 3DS. Advance and Rush stages, come on! They need love!
Emerald Coast has allot of Verity in Location areas, Under Water, on the Beach, a Jungle, docks, cave, they could do allot with level. My question is
WHY NOT????
looks like a lesser quality version of wave ocean in my opinion
“Jump as soon as you land on a panel, ore else you’ll fall.”
Holy crap. sega loves killer whales that much O_o.
Appears to be from an earlier build of the game, this level needs some visual polishing up.
The Pic from Sonic Scene when the orca wants to eat sonic! That would be great in 3D! imagine Sonic jumping out of the screen to you! And a Killer whale follows!
@HeatPhoenix i agree, but they are graphics. it’s only purpose is to make the game look pretty, it won’t affect the GAMEPLAY.
and i’m not bitching man! i’m LOLing xD
@Lolwut
Yeah, but at the generation we’re at I can expect something polished right? I’m not expecting PS Vita level graphics, but I AM expecting polish.
Don’t worry, I’ll buy it anyway, I’m really excited for it but every improvement I can get I’ll have!
@Ricardo
I think he might be in the act of jumping off of one of those panels.
