Two Panels, Special Covers, and the Generations Demo
Sonic comic fans and Sonic comic fans planning to attend New York Comic Con in a couple of weeks will have a central location to share–the Archie Comics booth.
That’s because in addition to an array of autograph sessions and panels, Sonic Generations will be playable at Archie’s booth, just as it was at San Diego Comic Con. It’s important to know that, as it indicates Sega will not have a formal presence at this year’s NYCC. Sega will host a House of the Dead: Overkill party off-site, but it’s not clear whether they will set up a special venue to showcase their other titles, as they did in San Diego.
At the Comic-Con, however, Archie will hold two panels of note for fans; the first is a general announcement panel with higher Archie management mainly in attendance on Saturday, October 15th at 1:30PM in Room 1A02. Those who go will receive a gift bag which will include some Sonic comic swag. A second Sonic and Mega Man specific panel will be held Sunday, October 16th, at 10:45AM in Room 1A03. Ian Flynn, Alex Segura, Spaz, and Paul Kaminski will attend. News is expected to come out of both.
And then there’s this, from IGN we have word special covers will be available at New York Comic Con. The alternate for issue #229 will be a pencils-only affair. Mega Man #6 will also get its own cover for the show.

Isn’t that suppose to be the cover in which Super Sonic appears in , the last part of the Genesis saga.
The pencil shading makes it look like he’s made out of wood, I would totally buy Sonic figurines made out of wood that would look classy.

Ah, here we go! I was just curious about SEGA’s attendance. It’s a shame, I wanted to see Aaron W. and the whole SEGA community team. Ah, oh well. As long as the demo’s there, I don’t mind.
I think there’s a typo at the beginning of the article: Shouldn’t it be “Sonic game fans and Sonic comic fans” and not “Sonic comic fans and Sonic comic fans”?
Unless you’re distinguishing between Sonic comic fans who are going to New York Comic Con and those who aren’t, but the latter won’t be visiting the Archie booth.
I haven’t read issue 228 yet but I’m noticing something interesting. The first comic of the genesis saga had Green Hill, from what I glanced at Chemical Plant is in issue 228, now Sophie please don’t ruin this for me but I think that Sky Sanctuary is going to be in Issue 229
