Beginning the “Reset”
Archie Comics this week released the formal preview to the principal Sonic comic, issue 229. The issue should begin trickling into comic book shops and newsstands shortly.
The issue, subtitled Reset, chronicles part four of the Genesis arc, and it opens in Metropolis and Oil Ocean Zone. Sally’s still alive at the beginning of the issue, but how long will that last? Ian Flynn penned the script. Tracy Yardley, Matt Herms, Terry Austin and John Workman handled issue art, while Spaz drew the cover.
That cover and the first five pages of issue 229 follow Archie’s formal synopsis.
“Genesis,” Part 4. The 20th-Anniversary Sonic celebration ends with this blockbuster issue! Sonic tackles the treacherous Metropolis Zone alone, while Sally leads her friends through the perils of the Oil Ocean Zone! At the end of the gauntlet lies the Death Egg and an epic battle! Will the world ever be the same again?

That was a nice read, can’t wait to get the full issue to see how this whole thing continues to develop. =)
Yardley’s artwork in these “Genesis” Issues is really awesome, he should keep this mixture of his own and Spaz’s style going. But I’m sure its probably not easy though, its always hard to try and draw like someone else, I mean Spaz and Yardley have two very distinctive styles.
Anyhow, before I write a book here, I really enjoyed this, to bad I’m living in europe, means I have to wait longer to get this issue… oh well. =/

Boomer and Sally are not crap foreign character they are staple SatAM character. T’wan on the other hand is a crap foreign character staple to SatAM.
I don’t think that Oil Ocean is ruined cuz of their presence.
Look like each game is getting four zone representation in this arc.
Green Hill and Marble zones for the first part of the Genesis arc
Labyrinth and Scrap Brain Zones for the second part of the Genesis arc.
Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant, Oil Ocean, and Metropolis Zones for the third part.
But by the looks of this issue Sonic 3 & K might not make an appearance. Still pulling for an appearance of Launch Base and Sky Sanctuary in the final part with an appearance of Knuckles.

right, I don’t remember the issue # but I have an issue where someone wrote a letter saying that the Archie Comics have to many characters and that Cream should have more of a presence in the comic that Sally Acorn, since she is a main game character. To which the editor(rightfully so) broke out in rage that someone wanted to downplay Sally.
I got this in the mail yesterday and man, what a cliff-hanger.
Woah! Sonic? With a knife? D: That’s just unnatural. . wait. And he’s using it to cut someone’s rope?!! What IS this madness?!
Hopefully Ian will do the right thing and not kill Sally off.
Yeah, I don’t know about anyone else here, but I would much rather see Sally than Cream, or even Amy for that matter. She’s a much better developed character than either, and its a shame that we’ll never see her in any of the games…

Sally’s been killed before but it was retconned later. So it might not last that long.

I know it looks like sarcasm, but I really don’t know if you know what that was about or not. Just in case, a little spoiler, in…some issue leading up to #50, nobody of no importance was trying to frame Sonic (it wasn’t Metal Sonic, Evil Sonic/Scourge, Knuckles, or any well known character at all).

Got this issue 4 days ago. Archie is a lil behind for the previews arent they? great to see Supes after a long while, but im more pumped for next ish since this ended on such a cliffhanger and of course Sal’s fate (Still hopin for Mecha Sal lol)
