‘See how Sonic 4 began’
After not surfacing since the debut tailer, Sonic CD has risen from the hubbub of Sonic Generations media and brought with it a brand new trailer. Showing off more stage footage (a lot more compared to previous trailer), we get to see the game in motion properly for the first time. The trailer also says the release will be “late” this year.
Check out the trailer here, or below. Let us know what you think

all mobile devices? what about blackberry?
So this means that Sonic CD happened after Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 4 Happens After Sonic CD?
At least the trailer is cool. I really Like the Narrator…
*whistles* That was tight!
The narrator is Professor Utonium from Powerpuff Girls. He does voice-overs for a ton of stuff now.
Always weirds me out.
@X
YES!!!! That’s why he sounds familiar haha…….. not….. that i watch…… powerpuff girls or anything o.O haha
No mention of the PC port this time then? I hope we are still getting one!
Aha! That narrator used to voice Spore trailers and stuff!
Professor Utonium? In MY Sonic?
…I’m alright with this.
“See where the Sonic 4 Saga began!” Uhhhh…….. there has only been one episode of Sonic 4 Mr. Announcer Guy. That hardly qualifies as a “saga”. I don’t care what they say, I still consider Sonic CD to take place between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. XD
It would have been better if Tom Kenny was the announcer
I’m still sticking to the “Sonic CD happens between Sonic 1 and 2″ belief.
MetaRyan: I tend to agree. Shoehorning Sonic CD into the Sonic 4 continuity is awkward at best.

Sonic 4 is the REAL bad future of sonic cd.
…I love Powerpuff Girls… *slams his Man Card down on the table*
This is effin perfect. Glad SEGA can do trailers right again, got my nostalgia juices goin
The voice actor everyone’s talking is Tom Kane (best known as the voice of Professor Utonium and Him from the Powerpuff Girls, Yoda from the Star Wars cartoons, and Mr. Herriman from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends).
Nice trailer accompanied by Quartz Quadrant (Present).
@TailsFan, Metaryan, and Tristan
I’ll always believe that SCD takes place between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.
@HMS123311 @MetaRyan @Tristan
Well, Sonic CD most likely did happen between Sonic 1 and 2.
These new trailers might be misleading, but they do not state in any form that Sonic CD immediately happened before Sonic 4. Assuming that is jumping to conclusions. All they say is that the events in Sonic CD will be a foundation for (future episode[s] of) Sonic 4. Not surprising, considering that Metal Sonic was hinted to play a big role in Sonic 4 Ep. 2.
If you don’t believe me, take it from Sega’s Ken Balough. Quote: “[Sonic 4 is] not trying to give Sonic CD a concrete place in the timeline”. Retro has an article about it.

Oh my God, are people still clinging to that bullshit misinterpretation about Sonic CD existing in between episodes of Sonic 4? Fucking hell.
Nothing is being shoehorned, Tristan. Let it go. It’s just potentially misleading marketing – nothing we aren’t used to.
THIS NARRATOR.
ChaoticFox: I never said it wasn’t misleading marketing, but it is sort of misleading marketing that’s trying to shoehorn nonsensical continuity from the past.
Meh.

@Tristan
Trying to make Sonic 4 seem relevant by tying it into Sonic CD is bullshit, I agree, but there is no official continuity to shift and any assumption to the contrary is just ignorant fan conjecture based off of shitty ambiguous marketing.
If nothing else, this new trailer demolishes the theory that SCD takes place between Ep.1 and Ep.2, because it says “See where Sonic 4 BEGAN”. Worst-case-scenario (assuming there is any continuity shifting AT ALL) this establishes CD as taking place after S3K, and before 4. Not really much of a shoehorn
They even got the title wrong! Its sonic the hedgehog CD not Sonic CD, the latter sounds much better anyways!!!!
Interesting they’re putting in the Japanese soundtrack this time around. I hope we can switch between the two of them. I love them both.
Man I just thought of something, guys.
They said Episode III was a “maybe”, right?
What if the entirety of (Just stay with me on this) Sonic 4 is just Sonic Cd –> Sonic 4 Episode 1 –> Sonic 4 Episode 2?
…..man that’d be the letdown of the fucking century.
@StephEn
…Who are you and why do you have my name…? XD
I’m with Needlemouse on the assumption that they mean it’s the beginning for future episodes of Sonic 4, not that Sonic CD is before Episode 1. Personally, I think the timeline still goes like this:
Sonic 1 – Sonic CD – Sonic 2 – Sonic 3 -Sonic & Knuckles – Sonic 4: Ep 1 – Sonic CD (revisited)
@Haru
Episode 1 was already the letdown of the fucking century, lol. I don’t think it’d be a huge loss if this mediocre “saga” ended after two episodes and Sega started putting their time into more impressive projects.
@ChaoticFox
“I don’t think it’d be a huge loss if this mediocre “saga” ended after two episodes and Sega started putting their time into more impressive projects.”
The truth right here, ladies and gentleman.
That’s the narrator from “The Smurfs”, isn’t it?
…Am i watching that maplestory trailer about aran?
Between this and Sonic Generations, SEGA’s gonna be making a buttload of money come this winter.
Just make a decent Sonic 4 SEGA
