Ironrind Releases Several New Engine Tests
We’ve been so enamored with Sonic Generations and various conventions of late that we’ve overlooked some other community matters from October.
One of those pieces of news concerned two fan games that, despite not showing up at this year’s SAGE, remain ones to watch. They are Sonic CB and Pure Chaotix, the product of Sonic Nebulous developer Ironrind, and as of now, the two are one, taking on the former’s name. Ironrind made the announcement earlier this month. The two stages that were completed for Pure Chaotix will now be used in CB. In addition, Espio, Mighty, and Vector will join the cast of playable characters along with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
To mark the occasion, Ironrind has released a couple of new engine test videos this month, one of which shows off a new zone, Polaroptic Powerplant. You can have a look below.

Hey I’m the beta tester for these, and I’m not saying anything but don’t expect a release for A WHILE XD
Wow, finally. A fan game that actually looks good.
Cool visual stuff going on here. It will neat to see if/when they can iron the framerate out a little more.
that has to be one of the most visual effected fan games thus far…well kids I wish you the best cause this has seriously good vibes coming from it so I await your work my friends…:)
Yeah, this looks pretty professional. There’s just one problem though: There were a lot of things in the background (and foreground) that I thought were obstacles or enemies until they just passed by Sonic.
Also, glad to see someone’s making original music for this for once.
This looks alright.
Why isn’t this guy doing original games? This looks AWESOME. Seriously, no, it’s the best fangame in ever!
That level design looks crazy hard to navigate, which is a minus in my book. Still, the graphics are AWESOMESAUCE, and I like how there are two different shield types.
