GameStop Offering Midnight Pickup of Generations in Select Locations

Piggybacking off of Uncharted 3 Launch Tonight

Since Uncharted 3 shares a domestic launch date with Sonic Generations, Gamestop figured it was a good idea to sell both at midnight tonight. So, Sonic fans with pre-orders–and perhaps those without–can partake in coveted midnight launch festivities for the first time in a long while.

Sega alerted their fans via Twitter and Facebook this afternoon, and we wish to pass along the message. If you’re in the US, you can click here and enter your ZIP code to see what locations will sell at midnight. Those locations will open at 10PM, and you need to finalize your sale between then and midnight. If you pre-ordered online and selected the Pickup@store option for a store opening at midnight, you still need to follow the same procedure and you should bring your order confirmation, or another form of ID.

So, after you perform the usual trick and treating, be sure to pick up one last treat and be part of what may be a very strong first wave of Sonic sales.

The closest midnight openings to me are in Shreveport and Texarkana. Damn.

Damn, I’d go, but my busy school-life just wouldn’t let me do that.

At least I preordered it on Steam. Wouldn’t be that much of a huge pain in the ass. (well, when downloading, but I don’t care xD)

I’m just buying two copies: One at Walmart (Midnight) and one at Gamestop (Pre-order Bonus). I plan on returning the copy to Walmart to get money back though.

Yep, I received a text message saying that the Gamestop I picked it up from will do it there. I paid for the whole price already, so all I need is to show the receipt.

Since I reserved two games over there (the other being Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3), will they let me hold on to the receipt?

Blast! Mine isn’t one of the stores…oh well…I guess I have to do things the old fashion way…good thing it’s Halloween…because now I can get the game from the store and say to everyone I just dressed up as a robber for Halloween!

Funny, I just got the Platinum Trophy for Uncharted 3, and now I’m going to pick up Sonic Gen at 12 AM today while it piggybacks off the Uncharted 3 launch event! Good times!
