Pix’n Love Publishing Developing 300 Pages with Sega’s Blessing
In more European Fans Have it Made news, we learned today the video game centric French publisher Pix’n Love Publishing will begin selling The History of Sonic next year in glossy hardcover.
The compilation was made with direct partnership of Sega Japan, according to today’s announcement. That means we will finally have an official, complete published record of the hedgehog’s history. It will cover 300 pages and include numerous original artworks of old and new, additional new interviews, and coverage of everything from the original 1991 Sonic up to Sonic Generations.
The good news is that it’s pretty cheap. Pix’N Love is asking for just €30 for the special collector’s edition, which is just about $40. You can pre-order now at their website, where you can also take a peek inside some of the pages. Our friends at French website Planete-Sonic tell us they do ship internationally, though it appears they only take Euros–so using Paypal may be the best bet there for conversion purposes. The bad news is that, for now, it’s only available to pre-order in French. That said, it does look like Pix’n Love has a more limited service set up in the UK, so an English language version isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility. We’ll let you know if that surfaces. Nevertheless, this version will be released in January. Thanks to @AggieCEO as well for tipping us on Twitter.
UPDATE: Here is an English translation of book description, also courtesy of Metal-Mighty from Planete-Sonic.com:

No point until its in English sadly, I’d love it but I’d love to be able to actually read it more than own it in a unreadable language :/
:’T and so we keep being forgotten…
I’m jelly
The Generations collectors edition I could do without, but THIS.
I would import the balls off of this if they release it in English. There is no possible way that it would not completely sell through the entire run.
I want this motherfucking book so much.
Fucking Europe, man….
Don’t care what language it is, I gotta have it, one way or another.
I’m AggieCEO by the way.
Why only Europe? Why no love for North America?

Sega, you’d better release this in America or so help me, things will get ugly.
Again with the “do want can’t haves”! It makes me want to have a 2-year-old-type temper tantrum! OK, not really. But come ON! Europe gets
EVERYTHING!Oops, thought “strike” meant italic for some reason.
I demand NA-exclusive DLC, like Ice Cap, Twinkle Park and Crimson Carnival.
I really hope SEGA is holding out for Americans on something relating to the 20th……… If not, then I’ll just go on with my life….. sob…….sob…..sob…..
That’s why we do it EEEEEBAY!!! on the other hand…there’s probably amazon for that too. Eh who knows…none the less one day I shall have that…that is gotta be the biggest yearbook I’ve ever seen LOL.
Somehow, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be able to order it through the US Amazon if it does come out in English in Europe. That said, I might just look at scans from the book. Someone’s just BOUND to upload one of those.
Well I just watched Nintendo Show 3D on my 3DS and they showed gameplay of Sonic Generations and I gotta say, the 3D effect is amazing. One of the best on the system so far right next to Super Mario 3D Land.
Dat Book
… Mother fuck.
What’s with the ‘no love’, Sega? Seriously, man – not cool. I mean, damn America and Japan practically made Sonic – why are we getting Europe’s sloppy seconds? >.>;
SEGA had better have something AMAZING to give us Americans on Sonic’s 25th anniversary
Don’t worry guys, the English translation will be released too! I know it for a fact, since I translated it…
The book is great, for any video game fan (and not just Sonic or SEGA fans). I hope you’ll like it!
Please spread the word!!!
