With it, Sega Releases Console Specific Trailer
Sega waited until it just about crossed the finish line to acknowledge much a Nintendo 3DS version even exists. With the game formally released in North America today, Sega of Europe released a new trailer ahead of the game’s proper launch there Friday.
You can check out that trailer, which shows a bit of everything the game has to offer, below. If you’ve already picked up Generations for the 3DS, share your thoughts in the comments section. We’ll be sure to round-up reviews and sales data for the game as they come in. Thanks to all who tipped us off to this trailer–too many to mention here.

can’t wait to get this why won’t the school bell ring yet
3nights to go to finally play a great game on my 3ds.
And I thought the end of this year would be beneficial for the 3DS.
Oh well…
Christmas, Won’t You Come Any Faster?
@krazeeKidd102
The 3DS had a rough start and there’s good games like Star Fox 64 3D, Shinobi 3DS, Mario 3D Land, and Mario Kart 7 but Nintendo said they’re offering some DLC (by doing it the right way by not charging extra, unlike Capcom) and there’s upcoming games like Kid Icarus: Uprising, Tekken 3D, and King of Pirates.
So don’t worry, the 3DS’s in good hands.
Man, all those games suck (No disrespect), its hard to walk into gamestation and see a good 3DS title to pick up besides mario 3d and upcoming mario kart 7, like you said tekken prime 3D is one to look out for as well as MGS, resident evil revelations
I’ve played the game…I enjoyed it.
@Tundiam : Um…not to sound rude, but how would you possibly know if all those games suck? They aren’t even all out yet haha. Just because they’re not something YOU would enjoy, does not mean they suck XP
Both versions have their strengths and weaknesses and they both possess qualities better than the other but both are great games.
Lol they made a mistake in the trailer. In the modern Sonic part, they showed Classic Water Palace. Oops.
85% from ONM? That’s actually really good.
@HMG
Lets see, i played mario 3d land at gamefest plus my friend let me borrow it saturday, iplayed MK7 at GAMEfest, Shinobi was also there, at the same time MGS and RES was there and i enjoyed playin those two
@Tundiam – You still cannot go judging from a demo. Having 3D Land for one day STILL isn’t enough to judge the game. I’ve passed 3D Land 100% (All golden flagpoles, beated Bowser and Dry Bowser, beated all courses as M&L, and collected all the star coins; yes I’m a loser xD) I say the game is easy and fun at times, but then there are parts where you lose so many lives, and just wanna punch someone(not really). If you don’t use any power-ups, then this game will be harder than you think.
You cannot judge MK7 from GAMEfest. People only play like what, 4 courses? Plus you cannot really hear the music. You also don’t really get the chance to enjoy the game, because your standing, with hundreds of people passing you, instead of being able to sit down and enjoying the game
Don’t judge games until you have it right before your hands.
hey i have a question the 3ds version has the option of put the audio in spanish and german like the console version
I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I was enjoying the 3DS version…console version is still better…but this is ok…also I can see a horde of classic Sonic fans wanting to destroy Dimps after Classic Sonic gains the Homing attack about 1/3 into the game……oh well…lol
Its fun to bad i beat the story in about 2 hours but there is so much bonus content for my hearts content til christmas and i have more to my 3DS library (i only have 5 game monkey ball, zelda, star fox, mario 3d land, and sonic generations)
This is a great game. ^_^ I love the homing attack scene in the game, then the boost scene as well (i thought they might end up giving him both) I still have to beat the missions, but have finished the main story. The Time eater battle was much more fun (in my opinion) in this version. The rival battles were not as good (except metal sonic was more like his original). I have all chaos emeralds and have beat the game but it seems we don’t get super Sonic’s unless there is something I’m missing. (possibly the missions?)
you cant get super sonic in stage and only in the final stage plus
please can somebody tell me if the sonic generations 3ds version you can put the voice in spanish or french like in the console version or just english
none of the handheld games have given us super sonic in levels so thats another nod to the handhelds i guess
@teirusu
Don’t know about the text, but there is no voice acting except for a few grunts, and a few of the standard annoying quotes from Eggman, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem for you, judging by your good English.
#raymanfan: I think I heard tails say “sonic” and eggman give a one liner
O_O IT LOOKS SO GOOD! I’ve already been wishing I had a 3DS, but I want this too! >_<
I remember when Sonic Rush got 92% at ONM. Those guys know what they’re taking about.
It’s alright. I don’t know if I would call it a $40 game, but I’m certainly having fun with it. It really could have used a few more stages though, and the rival races are kind of hurrr. Having them in re-used stages really gives the game a rushed feel.
As for the homing attack, I love using it as an air boost for both Sonics. The stomp is, in my opinion, also an essential part of the moveset now even in 2D. I love the added control it gives in the air.
The multiplayer could be a total gamemaker if I actually knew anyone with both a 3DS and the game to race against… and it really makes me wish they had added that feature into the console version.
From what i’ve heard and seen (from people who have it) it’s quite disappointing…
Not to hate on Dimps or anything, but 7 stages are not enough, especially when they are REALLY short and sometimes too simple with level design (for example, Emerald coast as Modern). 100 missions doesn’t make up for it at all, Sonic rush adventure had 100 and most blazed through 90% of them in a day or two, and got stuck on the hardest ones or completed all of them. Seems the Chaos Emeralds are easy to get too. Online play should HUGELY increase replayability, that was a good thing to include. Overall, it seems entertaining, but Dimps clearly had barely any time to develop it with, and it just seems a rushed, lazy package. Don’t hate me, it’s just my opinion from WHAT I’VE HEARD/SEEN. What i’m saying are facts though, so even though I don’t have it, I know for example that the levels are short.
I wish they just merged it into the HD one. *sigh*…
Time eater is SO much better in the 3DS version.
