What Do They Know that We Didn’t?
If you aren’t a believer of that Sonic Dimensions rumor we published last month, it might be time get on board…seeing as a major, official magazine has.
We received a couple tips via Twitter over the weekend which told us the Spanish Official Nintendo Magazine, once known as Nintendo Acción, picked up on Dimensions in their latest issue. Though they look to be treating as rumor as well, the magazine added a new detail. You can look at the scan for yourself via Spanish website Sonic Paradise, but in a nutshell, the magazine speculates Sonic–and his assumed multiple personalities–may again revisit areas from his past, in much the same way he did in Sonic Generations.
We’ll keep this as rumor for now, but one has to wonder: If they didn’t pick up information that specific from us, how did they learn about it? Ponder that below in the comments.

I don’t mind the idea of playing as alternate reality versions of Sonic as long as they aren’t merely recolors, and are aesthetically different in one way or another. The only thing that has me worried is the phrase “may again revisit areas from his past.” I’m personally more than tired of the Sonic series’ rehashed zones, and this doesn’t sound promising…

SEGA, you want to finally please your fanbase? Then drop the gimmick bullshit and give us Sonic Adventure 3. People are sick of only playing as Sonic and we want a game with a story that is just as in-depth as SA2′s. And frankly, I’m longing to see the short-lived Adventure gameplay brought back in 3D. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Unleashed gameplay (as long as the levels are well-structured), but if you can go back and perfectly replicate Classic gameplay in Sonic Generations, why can’t you do the same with the Adventure gameplay?
I think I speak for the whole fanbase when I say drop the crap about reinventing and trying something entirely new, because it’s obviously not working out, and it hasn’t been for the past 5 or 6 games, with Sonic Colors being the only exception.

@Cooky I agree with you completely. Sonic Generations’ nostalgia and recreation makes sense, but anything else after this is just completely unneeded and unnecessary.

The Sonic/Tails fans of the Mega Drive era do not register to speak, i see here again & on other pages… but i know they all especially love “Sonic The Hedgehog 3″; it was the highlight of this era of the sonic game development, music-, boss / mini-boss, & design- technologies etc. & very much successfully improved then his predecessor (Sonic The Hedgehog 2, with the exception of the special stage). The Dreamcast era Sonic fans likes “Sonic Adventure 2″ (cars, city, presidents, rap, weapons etc.); what the other does not like. Sonic has now with Generations a good way for both, we hope the next Sonics are for all the best possible Sonic games. We like a believable fantasy world; not the US president in an US car on San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, this was a break of the Sonic Fantasy World. So this is a good news “again also revisit some areas (maybe just two zones of Sonic The Hedgehog 3) from his past”. The developers come back on the right track, back
to the Sonic Fantasy World.
^This guy. I love how you seperated the eras and acknowledge the seperate fanbases that are clearly their. What i dont like is the clear disrespect people have for the other genres. THe only things that make me keep coming back to the sonic games are the differences in each one. I love that almost each one has a “gimmick” or twist because it stays true to what Sonic actually is. You guys are asking for sonic to be too hardcore. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were indeed great games, Sonic Unleashed and Colors also, shit even the genesis games were amazing, but you cant keep comparing the new games to the previous ones. In all honesty most of the “sonic fans” sound like they want games to be the same each title. IF you really feel that way, go to mario, because thats exactly what these “fans” are asking sega to do.

Honestly, I’m tired of people saying these are recolors- they obviously don’t know what it is. A recolor is a DIFFERENT character with a DIFFERENT name. These are all Sonic, just with different personalities.
Sometimes, it seems all the fanbrats of Sonic are just WAITING for SEGA to screw up.
