What Do They Know that We Didn’t?
If you aren’t a believer of that Sonic Dimensions rumor we published last month, it might be time get on board…seeing as a major, official magazine has.
We received a couple tips via Twitter over the weekend which told us the Spanish Official Nintendo Magazine, once known as Nintendo Acción, picked up on Dimensions in their latest issue. Though they look to be treating as rumor as well, the magazine added a new detail. You can look at the scan for yourself via Spanish website Sonic Paradise, but in a nutshell, the magazine speculates Sonic–and his assumed multiple personalities–may again revisit areas from his past, in much the same way he did in Sonic Generations.
We’ll keep this as rumor for now, but one has to wonder: If they didn’t pick up information that specific from us, how did they learn about it? Ponder that below in the comments.

Sonic Generations with NEW LEVELS (classic & modern unleashed/colors) gameplay = YES FOREVER!
As awesome as more revisitation may be, I’m taking this as a grain of salt. Spanish ONM/Nintendo Accion has a bad habit of messing up Sonic-related news (remember when they said that Amy was in the Wii version of Sonic Colors?).

Ther article is speculating. They are not giving out more details. So far as I can tell, they don’t know anything, they are merely commenting on rumours and speculating.
This is not new information nor is it news. It is as much news, as myself saying that the game will have a stage called “Desert Plains Zone”.
Sonic: Generations of Recolors.
Having some mixed feelings about this. On one hand, Sonic Team working with some of Nintendo’s developers sounds FANTASTIC. On the other hand, still say its fake till I see offical screenshots with a teaser trailer.
Gonna keep an eye out for this one while being cautious, knowing Iizuka’s attempt to “reinvent” Sonic.
Bystander: Key words there are “As far as I can tell.” Even if you’re right, it still doesn’t really change the question as to how they heard it from anyone else but us (since it’s uncredited.)

Its a rumour and rumours travel quickly. The news most definately spread from your site to other Sonic forums and undoubtedly to external forums such as NeoGAF. The magazine could have picked up on the rumour from any one of these places.
Whilst, I’m undecided on the validity of “Sonic Dimensions” and its premise, I remain skeptical until there is some concrete evidence.
Maybe, will see a new Sonic game based on the model they used in Generations?

What a shocker, Sonic Team! If this turns out to be true, this would prove to be one of the LARGEST money-grabbing tactics that I have ever seen! Sonic Dimensions… Where recolored versions of Sonic the Hedgehog are allowed to be playable while the middle finger is thrown at Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, etc. preventing them from ever being playable again! What a nice move to make, huh? Hey, people will get on my case for being a whiner and a clueless fanboy but it’s time for you people to face the facts. SONIC TEAM DOESN’T REALLY CARE ABOUT OTHER PLAYABLE CHARACTERS! It’s been about Sonic and only Sonic and it will ALWAYS be about Sonic until the day we die! So for those of you who are loyal to characters such as Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Espio, Blaze and others, you can forget about them EVER being developed as playable characters because Sonic Team goes where the money is and that’s jerking around this SOLA SONICA mentality until it’s beaten to death! So they take your money away and you get to wait another FIVE TO TEN YEARS of just hoping that other playable characters will be made available as an option.
“Tell us how you really feel, FanFromDallas!” says a random guy who replies to this message. Well, you know what? I don’t care anymore. The fact that Tails fans, Amy fans, Shadow fans and other fans won’t stand up and fight for these characters is really telling of where this franchise is going to go soon.

Seriously, we already had an entire game about pleasing nostalgia, which followed a half-assed sequel that delved too much into nostalgia to be original.

A couple of days that our fellow Red Zone published a story in which he commented that in the November issue of Official Nintendo Magazine in Spain, until this issue known as Nintendo Action, mentioned the rumor that TSSZ | News published on the new game that Sega is preparing for the next generation console from Nintendo, Wii U, and we echo that we instantly.
Well, we could have access to this publication and inform you of what this magazine says about the game.
In the section of letters to the editor, a reader wonders if there will be more Sonic’s in sight for Wii, to which the journal replied that the Wii no, but “there are rumors that there would be a new title in development for Wii U, called Sonic Dimensions “.
He also notes that higher power would use the U Wii graphic section to display a lot better than Sonic Generations for Xbox 360 and PS3, and will use the innovative features of the new command console.
It adds a detail that has not been discussed earlier in the rumor that TSSZ published, which is likely to meet again different stages in the history of Sonic.
Does that mean it’ll be to handle Dimensions Sonic Sonic Classic? Or perhaps revisit old levels in alternate dimensions, where things are not remembered them as Sonic? We do not know, and to have more information is still a long time. So far, we are left with the fact that the official Nintendo magazine confirms that Sonic Dimensions
Noticed how I said “If this turns out to be true” since I want to believe that these rumors are just rumors.
Why people can’t see that a concept such as Sonic Dimensions would be a cruel slap in the face to fans of Sonic’s friends who have been waiting for a long time now to get their favorite characters playable again boggles my mind.
F*** THE HELL YES! This better be real!! Sonic was (arguably and IN MY OPINION!) always better on nintendo anyway.
I still hope this is true….though re-visiting the past? Hmm, i’d like it, but we just had 16 awsome levels of nostolgia goodnesssssss. I would not mind it this time, but whatevs.

If they want more old levels they should just release more to Generations as DLC. If they want to do that for Wii U as well, release a special edition for Wii U with the DLC levels included (or wait for the Wii U version to release the DLC). They should not (and most probably wont) make another game that revisits old levels. The only way I can see this new piece of the rumor being true is if they’re not revisiting old levels but old LOCATIONS in the the Sonic World.
if they’re grabbing levels based on surrealism instead of nostalgia, then i dont have a problem with it. I sorta like the notion of Music Plant in HD
If this was any bit true, it would make more sense if it was old levels in different dimensions. I would find that not only interesting and cool, but it would make sense too, I would love to see other versions of old levels. I’m not gonna believe any of this right now but I’ve got my I’m gonna be alert.

I like the idea, but I don’t like the whole Split Personality thing, not because it’s “Abusing Sonic’s Friends from being played as” but because it’s been done before, and a bit overdone at this point too.
Not to mention Sonic needs to split into a whole ton of different personalities. If it was 2 or 3 that’s alright, but there are like 6 or 7 of them.
I know that some will be used to Parody Characters like the purple Sonic being over Dramatic and Edgy, making fun of Characters like Shadow, and Silver. Or the Purple “Slow” one making fun of Big. But I can’t see why they have to be a Different Sonic???

I do like the whole aspect of Going back to -CHANGED- Locations like in CD the level would share Location but be vastly altered. C’mon lets be honest here. When- Has-Sonic-Not-Revisited-Any-Location-
Sonic CD is like Sonic 1 on Steroids Just about every level is an scaled up Level from the Original.
I just can’t believe some people say “We never get to play as other Characters” Have they played any games ??? I know their still in only Part games, and used for Multi player and they wanna see them have story roles. but the problem with other characters is fitting them in the story. Sonic heroes had allot of things just shoe horned in to make the game longer than 2 Hours, same deal with 06. Allot of sonic stories don’t really need other characters. That’s why it’s usually been Sonic and Tails. Sonic to fight, and Tails to take him. But in Generations the Assist seemed to me to be one of the better ways of Characters being used for specific obstacles. Sonic can’t jump far enough, Vector could toss him, a Fire in the way for Blaze to put out. In a seances that’s like playing as those characters again, and it seems like a better way to include them. Characters follow you, and you get their help like in the Shadow game . Heroes is okay, but Team based is a little much if you ask me.

It’s a little weird to be revisting old levels again after Generations, but the franchise has had a severe lack of nostalgia before Sonic 4 came out.

Revisiting old levels? LOLNO, this rumor has to be fake now. Our honorable lord Iizuka stated that Sonic’s next game would be an all-new adventure. People are sick of nostalgia now and want something new.
Why not use characters instead for recolors? I would love to play as Big again(Without fishing). If this is real, i might not get it and instead wait for Sonic 4 Episode 2
Ya know, normally, most Sonic game rumors sound awesome and i’m REALLY on board for it but, eh, not this one. I don’t know why, but ANOTHER TIME/SPACE GAME, ISN’T CUTTING IT FOR ME!! I loved Generations, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just too much… I’m tired of Sega and time-space travel. 06 wasn’t good, CD was awesome, Generations was epic, but not again Sega. Give us more platforming and fighting, less boosting and time/space travel. The whole “revisiting the past” is just incorrect. Didn’t Iizuka say Sonic’s getting “rebooted” in 2012? Right? Shouldn’t there NOT be any remakes/revisiting? Inspiration from a past level (Green hill/ Emerald hill/Splash hill/Everything hill) is perfectly fine. Hence the Sonic Advance 2 level rumor. This is just another gimmick. I don’t know why I don’t like this one. Hell, I loved the Werehog, Caliburn, and the Wisps but multi-personality hedgie = me no likey.

If you ever thought this wasn’t news, then I’m guessing you already knew that the Spanish Magazine mentioned the rumor. It’s obviously common knowledge.
On 2 other notes, I just saw the morning news talk about video games and use a buncha clips of Sonic 1, Halo, the original Zelda and a Harry Potter game. (And I think Mario Kart)
Point is, they used Sonic. I’m not used to seeing him get publicity like that.
